Light is a form of energy that enables us to see objects. There are luminous objects that can produce light and illuminated objects that reflect light falling on them but do not produce their own light. When light falls on or is emitted from an object, our eyes detect that light, making the object visible. Light can be reflected, transmitted, or absorbed when hitting surfaces. Mirrors reflect light following the law of reflection, forming real or virtual images depending on the shape of the reflective surface.
