1. The HMD / Kontro GSA
Process Pump provides a
versatile range of general-
service pumps designed
to cover wide-duty and
multiple-based applica-
tions. The intrinsic value of the GSA Process
Pump is found in its straight-forward simplicity:
a minimum number of pump models achieved
by maximizing interchangeable components.
A good rule of thumb for specifying the GSA
Pump is found in its name – General Service
Application (GSA). An ASME-standard pump is
available within the GSA product line.
Covering a hydraulic range that is split into three
frame sizes, Frame 0, Frame 1, and Frame 2,
the GSA Process Pump is offered with a range
of Synchronous Magnet Drives, rated to match
prime-mover performance. The frame sizes
and range of drives allow for specification of all
denominations.
Standard construction of the GSA Pump is
comprised of stainless steel with silicone carbide
internal bearings. Other options of Alloy 20, C,
or B are available upon request. Pumps can be
fitted with standard CSF and Graphite Gaskets
and Viton O-Rings or PTFE Gaskets and PFR
O-Rings. The Stock Depot in Charlotte, NC, is
able to mix and match the interchangeable parts
to fit the specific application.
Standard Temperature Rating is -40°F to 300°F.
Hot Modifications, 400°F and 500°F are avail-
able by applying an Alloy 255 Bushing Holder
and Stainless Steel Cored Outer Magnet Ring
and Ceramic Potted Inner Magnet Ring. 600°F
Hot Modification is also available by applying a
Titanium Bushing Holder, Thermal Spacer, and
Finned External Bearing Frame.

Liquid Handling Equipment, Inc.
Oliver Equipment Company (OEC)
Formed in 1975 by Gale Oliver and Ron Laughter as Oliver & Laughter Equipment Company, the company
changed its name to Oliver Equipment Company after the 1990 retirement of Ron Laughter and later
relocation of its home office in 1997.
Proudly representing Sundyne API
and Sunflo Pumps since 1975, OEC
became the HMD / Kontro distributor
for South Texas in 1993. The OEC
home office and service center are
located in Houston, Texas, with satellite
offices in Corpus Christi, Beaumont,
and Lake Jackson. Currently, the
company consists of 36 employees.
OEC serves as an Authorized Service
Center for all of the products it repre-
sents, with the exception of Dresser
Rand steam turbines. OEC aftermarket
capabilities include:
• Factory Trained Personnel
• 24 / 7 Call-Out Service
• Locally Stocked Parts
• Performance Testing of Pumps
• Dynamic Balancing of Components
• OEM Tolerances and Specifications

Success Story
An LNG export terminal facility on the Texas Gulf Coast was in need of a Positive Displacement Diaphragm
pump for a Loading Arm application. When loading barges with the Liquid Natural Gas, it was necessary to
completely evacuate the LNG in the loading arm. The remaining LNG was then pumped back into the tank
via the PD pump.
OEC determined that the Positive Displacement Pump was not the best choice for the LNG applications
because of low NPSHa and high pulsations. OEC introduced the HMD / Kontro LMV-801S (API certified)
pump and was able to sell the low NPSHr - no seals, no seal support systems, no cooling water required.
With a tight project schedule, HMD / Kontro provided two pumps in 16 weeks. A third pump was later
added to the order because of the efficiency and small footprint of the HMD / Kontro LMV-8015 pump.

OEC also offers Field Engineering Support to provide Equipment and
System Troubleshooting, Installation Reviews and Start-Up Assistance,
Maintenance, Engineering, and Operator Training, as well as Engineering
Design Review of chronic “bad-actor” equipment.
With OEC since 1998, Pete Koinis, OEC Service Manager, spent one
year with HMD / Kontro before becoming a Field Service Engineer for
Sundyne. For the past four years, Pete has focused on the HMD / Kontro
product offering.
With a roster of other dedicated employees that range from Eddie
Boykin, Lead Mechanic to Cindy Bonura who oversees Sizing and
Quoting, to Steve Schott, Tab Taylor, Chase Griffin, and Vince Sicola,
expert OEC salesmen with over two decades of hands-on HMD / Kontro
knowledge, OEC carries the day in providing in-depth expertise as it
proudly represents and services HMD / Kontro equipment.

The Kontro Quarterly Salutes Diane Allan
Recently promoted to Senior Logistics Coordinator, Diane Allan
has been part of the HMD Kontro family for over 11 years. Diane began
her successful HMD career in production control, helping out in the shipping department,
until she advanced to Shipping Administrator.
It was a fitting first placement because Diane had a total of 16 years of pump-industry
shipping experience, now calculated at 27 years since joining HMD Kontro in 2004!
She loves working in the shipping department because there is always a unique situation
to handle, whether it’s dealing with external or internal customers or Customs Officials in
the UK or worldwide or different kinds of projects or letters of credit or numerous and sundry problems.
Diane boasts, “Shipping logistics certainly keep my work days varied and busy!”
On a personal level, Diane loves to shop, celebrate holidays, and spend lots of off-time
with family and friends. Family is key with most of her time spent with her husband Dave
and their two children, Lauren 20 and Kai 16. A constant houseful of kids and friends
keeps Diane young and happy!
Diane also enjoys the sense of family at HMD Kontro. She happily reports that she feels
privileged to work with such a great bunch of people.
The Kontro Quarterly proudly salutes Diane Allan as one of the many hard working,
dedicated, passionate HMD Kontro employees. We feel very fortunate that she is part
of the HMD Kontro team!
