Gareth Watson from TalkTalk presented on their journey towards continuous delivery in a large, complex system with significant technical debt from acquisitions and growth over 15 years. TalkTalk analyzed their estate of over 600 applications, 3000 servers, and 84 million lines of code to understand dependencies and challenges. They took a three-pronged approach: simplification using CA Release Automation, test automation, and acting small with an initial focus on a single application. Early results included faster deployment times, storage reduction, and fewer incidents.
