Stock Market Updates- Positive start to April series; ICICI Bank
falls 6%.Indian shares ended higher on Monday, the first trading
day of the new financial year, as a recovery in global markets
bolstered sentiment, while auto stocks such as Tata Motors were
among top gainers on strong March domestic vehicle sales. The
S&P BSE Sensex and the CNX Nifty gained by 0.87% and 0.97%,
respectively. Indian markets ended higher on the first trading
session of April F&O series, tracking firm cues from Asian peers,
led by gains in index heavyweights such as Kotak Mahindra
Bank, Adani Ports, Tata Motors and Sun Pharmaceutical
Industries. In line with the benchmark indices, the broader
settled higher, with MidCap and SmlCap indices gaining as much
as 1.4% and 2.35%, respectively.



ICICI Bank clarifies on report of probe by ED; Stock slips over
6%. Shares of ICICI Bank is trading lower by 6% on the BSE. The
bank has clarified on news item which appeared in the

Business Standard newspaper on April 2, 2018, captioned “ED
initiates enquiry into ICICI- Videocon loan case”. It has not
received any communication from the Enforcement Directorate
enquiring about the loan it gave to Videocon Group, ICICI bank
said in the BSE filing.

GLOBAL FACE

Asian markets were mostly higher in muted trading Monday, as
Hong Kong and Australian markets were closed for Easter, and
Wall Street and other global markets have been closed for a long
weekend after Good Friday



U.S. Futures pointed to a lower opening bell on Monday, as
investor worry over a trade war resurfaced after China
increased tariffs up to 25% on American goods.


European markets remained closed today.


Dr Reddy's arm files NDA for

migraine candidate
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories and its subsidiary, Promius
Pharma, LLC announced the filing of New Drug
Application (NDA) for its migraine candidate DFN-02 with
the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). According
to Dr. Anil Namboodiripad, senior vice president,
proprietary products and president, Promius Pharma, the
NDA for DFN-02 is an important step forward in the
company's mission to bring solutions that address unmet
needs. In a multicenter, double-blind, randomized,
placebo controlled study with 107 subjects, DFN-02 has
demonstrated that it can effectively treat pain and
associated symptoms during a migraine attack and reduce
attack-related functional disability. Upon approval, the
product will be commercialized by Promius Pharma. At
2.57 pm, Dr Reddy's was trading at Rs2128, up by 2.19%,
with a volume of 0.16 lakh shares on the BSE.

Eicher Motors commercial vehicle

sales volumes at 9,411 units
Eicher Motors reported Commercial Vehicle sales
volumes for March 2018 at 9,411 units grew 28% YoY and
came in ahead of our estimates of 7,610 units. A strong on
ground demand resulted in a sharp jump in sales volumes
for the month. At 12.52 pm, Eicher Motors was trading at
Rs28510, up by 0.61%, with a volume of 4858 shares on
the BSE.

Lupin's Pithampur unit gets Health

Canada clearance
Lupin announced the successful facility review carried
out by Health Canada for its Pithampur Unit 2 (Indore)
manufacturing facility. Following the review, Health
Canada has maintained the compliant rating for Unit 2 at
Pithampur (Indore) and has issued a revised
'Establishment License'. At 2.22 pm, Lupin was trading
at Rs773.45, up by 5.03%, with a volume of 1.08 lakh
shares on the BSE.

Reliance Infra wins EPC contract

worth Rs441 crore
Reliance Infrastructure has won an engineering,
procurement and construction ( EPC) contract for Rs441
crore from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways
(MoRTH) for the rehabilitation and upgrading of National
Highway – 66 (formerly, National Highway –
17) in the Kashedi Ghat section which includes
execution of three by three lane twin tunnels of total
length 3.44 km. Reliance Infrastructure had bid for the
project in joint venture with CAI, Ukraine, globally
renowned for tunnel construction. In addition to the twin
tunnels, the contract also includes construction of
highway with paved shoulders and viaducts for a length
of 7.2 Km. Commissioned under National Highway
Development Programme (NHDP) – IV of the Ministry,
the project is to be completed in 30 months.
