5. What and Who is a
Citizen Integrator?
Citizen integration is used as a term to
describe how teams such as sales or marketing

support of the IT team. A typical citizen
integration will be a software integration
created by an end-user without needing to
rely on tools such as API’s or customizable
code.

7. API Management
Traditionally we would use API’s to connect
tools together, which in many cases requires
some technical knowhow and also experience
using the API’s of the platforms you are trying
to connect. API’s don’t offer anything more
than a ‘channel’ to pass data through and are
like a plug and socket without any logic to
determine how, when and where data moves
to your different applications. This makes
them very limited in their capabilities.

14. Step 2: Add your first
application endpoint
Whether you’re using ServiceNow, JIRA,
ZenDesk, or BMC Remedy (or any other
service management software) the process is
the same. Just ‘Add a new endpoint’ in your
ONEiO dashboard. Then follow the steps to
setup the credentials and configuration
needed for that platform. It should only take a
few minutes to do.
15. Step 3: Add your
second application
endpoint
Whatever application you want to add next,
you just follow the same steps as above. Select
‘Add a new endpoint’ and repeat the process.
Some applications have different
requirements. For Example, ServiceNow will
require a new REST message setup, and JIRA
requires an API token.
16. Step 4. Setup your
rules… (or not…)
The difference between a simple API
connection and a genuine integration is logic.
Messages, data and insights from each
application need rules to follow in order to
become useful in other applications. So, head

17. Step 5. Scale-up
