I’ll start by telling you a little story where I learnt a big lesson about when I looked and didn’t jump. I love to travel and had thought going to New Zealand would be fun and make it easy to visit my friend in Australia.
This is where my story begins with me choosing what I wanted to do in New Zealand…Some of the wild adventurous things
I wanted to do the Shotover Canyon SwingThe World’s Highest Swing at 109m/360ft above the famous Shotover River in NZ. Attached in a full body harness, you have over 70 jump styles to choose from, ranging from mild to mind blowing. Once you leave the platform you’ll have a 60m/200ft free fall before smoothly entering a giant 200m swing arc at 150kph.
It looks a little something like this.
You can do it solo or tandum.What would you do? What did I choose?solo
So I was there on the platformIt's hot and I'm sweating from the extreme heat…I get strapped and harnessed in around my butt and waist, on a platform on the one side of a canyon. I tell myself “Diane, Others have done it before you and they are human so what makes you different and not able to achieve it.They think I should do the pin drop...suggested b/c I've never done a bungee jump before. - I shuffle to the edge. I’m looking down at the 109m canyon I will drop into and all I have to do is a small hop to the left. Unlike jumping off a bridge which takes one obvious step literally You must look at the fear straight on and take the challenge believe me that even though My head is on the guy's shoulder and my arm linking his.........I want to do it but I say 'I can't do this”He tells me, "I wouldn't either it's not very safe" and smiles. Yathanks a lot guy – but I could tell what he was doing –he's trying to distract me or make me laughI stood there without making a move............what was holding me back?
I was just looking.I was stuck at the final step of the JUMP process. Would you have gotten stuck here or earlier?Are you getting stuck at one of the 5 steps and procrastinating doing something you have only wished you could do?Well I want to change that.

Quick and painless. So I decided I had to conquer the Canyon swing so I did it again. and the next time I went up I just did a 3-2-1 and I jumped with more courage and strength and it allowed me to enjoy the experience more.
