1. LETTER OF REFERENCE FOR Farrah Trahan
Fall 2013
To: Whom-it-may concern:
Farrah started her volunteer placement here in
Homewood Library last March. Homewood is a leader
in mental health and addiction treatment in Canada.
Our Library services include a Consumer Health
Information collection for 312 patients, and current
medical information for approximately 1,000 staff &
volunteers. Our mission is to optimize the use of
healthcare information to support our hospital
community.
Farrah has demonstrated that she is reliable and
flexible. Her attendance was excellent and she was
required to work independently with our volunteers
including evening and weekend shifts.
Farrah’s task was to educate our current volunteers
about use of e-books. We have a new collection of e-
books that can be loaned to patients and staff and
Farrah trained our volunteers in the use of an e-book as
well as set-up instructions. This involved educating
over 50 volunteers with an age span of teens to older
adults.
2. She was organized and communicated her intentions
well. She was responsible to work around interruptions
at the circulation desk and to offer extra help if needed.
It is our pleasure to recommend Farrah as a suitable
employee and wish her luck in this endeavor.
