you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll
find an excuse.”

Goals are like
the most
powerful GPS
GPS and Goal Setting
• You have to know ____________________ you are __________________.
• You improve accuracy and efficiency by adding _______________
____________ (city, state, zip).
• Helps to be aware of _________________ and resources.
• Yet WHY you want to get there is the most important.
where going
specific
details
obstacles
Why you want to get there?
• Which do you feel is more powerful?
A. You have a free weekend and want to get out of
town and explore the country.
B. You have a loved one that requires life saving
treatment in 3 days at a specific specialty
hospital to even have a shot at survival.
Goals and GPS won’t work without…
• No Destination = No Directions
• No Deadline = No Urgency
• No Reason Why = No Acceleration,
Determination, Sacrifice, or
Discipline
“You’ll either pay the price of
discipline or the price of
regret…either way a price will be
paid.”
-Jim Rohn
Your Values and Life’s Mission
Defines WHY you do WHAT you do
“This will reveal your heart or motive
behind your actions and further impress
upon your mind why your priorities are so
important. If your priorities are written
down, this crystalizes your thinking and
helps you focus on your future.”
-Paul J. Meyer, Billionaire,

Discover Which Wall…Your Mission…Relevance
Move Slowly, Think Deeply, & Enjoy The Process
Example: My mission is to use my talents and abilities to create a loving, safe, happy,
and prosperous life for my family.
I maintain a positive attitude and sense of humor in everything I do. I invest love,
time, patience, encouragement and creativity in my relationships. I seek opportunities
to help others to achieve their goals and dreams.
In order to do this to the best of my ability, I regularly study and expand my
knowledge of communication, psychology, leadership, and sales.
I take care of my body and choose activities that foster health, choose healthy foods
that fuel these activities, drink plenty of water, and enjoy plenty of sleep.
I use my increasing knowledge and strengths consistently, and I refuse to hide them
because of any insecurities. From now on, I strive for excellence in all the above.

fantasize a little. If some of your goals
aren’t a bit crazy, then they might be too
safe.
• All Goals MUST be written in Present

Create “Your
Biggest Winner
Cookbook” for
Success
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Table of Contents
Step #5: Create a Summary Page with Top 3
goals in each category
• You should have 8 Categories.
• You should have 3 prioritized Goals in each
Category for a total of 24 Goals.
• Check for balance & Possible Conflicts
across all 24 Goals.
• Add Due Date for Each Goal.
Recipes In Your
Cookbook
• Create a Recipe for
each of your 24
SMART Goals.
• In a notebook, each
Key Life Area could
have a tab with each
of 3 goals behind it.
• Complete #1 In Each
Category…then #2
Recipes In Your
Cookbook
• SMART Goal Statement-
Present Positive
• Due Date
• Why
• Achievable: Skills, Knowledge,
Ability, & Resources Needed
• Possible Obstacles AND Plan to
overcome
• SMART?
• Affirmation including all
components of recipe.
• Committed Activity Plan
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Daily Activity Plan
Step #6: Quantify Each Goal into 90 Day Years
• 365 Days is too long and give us too much time to
procrastinate.
• A Deadline is a terrific motivator…we get the most done
just before something is due.
• 90 Day Years intensifies focus & creates energy; Drives
out inefficiencies & delays; Eliminates wishful thinking &
confronts reality; and, Builds capacity in prioritized areas.
-Brian Moran “The 12 Week Year”
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Daily Activity
Step #7: Break Down your 90-Day Years
• 90 Day Years: How much of that particular goal
can you accomplish in the next 90 days?
• What measurable activity will you need to complete
over the 90 Days to reach your goal?
• Activity for 90 Days / 3 = Monthly Activity
• Monthly Activity / working days in month = daily
activity required to reach 90 Day goal.

Activities Plan-HOW will the Activity Happen
Does Your Activity Plan Achieve Your Goal?
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Daily Activity
Step #7: Write down the Daily Activity Plan
• For Each of Your 24 goals, on the back
of the recipe card or separate sheet of
paper, draft your Daily Activity Plan.
• Could be a nutrition plan, exercise
program, daily introductions, time
invested in relationships…etc and Must
be measurable activity.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Affirm Your Beliefs

be! Add an affirmation to each Recipe.
• Shape your beliefs by creating an affirmation
declaration.
• Present Positive Statement for Each Goal in
Each Area…I am, I have, I enjoy…
• Read a couple of times a day with emotion,
energy, and belief. Put them on the mirror, 3
X5 Cards, Visor, etc…
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Example Affirmation
Achieve the $100K Ring in 2015
• I proudly wear the $100k Ring
because I have helped others to
achieve their goals and dreams and
introduce 9 people every working
day to LegalShield.

Step #8: What you focus on & believe comes to
be! Add an affirmation to each Recipe.
• Craft a summary affirmation that includes your Life’s
Mission, Values, Goals, and Daily Activities.
• Brian Carruther’s page 261 in Building an Empire
• This is the Cover Page for your 3 Ring Success Cookbook.
• Your affirmation statement should always be a work in
progress.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Crystalize & Make it Public
Step #9: Create a Vision Board and Share your goals
with others, especially those who are affected by your
goals – family, friends, colleagues.
• Find a Picture that Represents each and every goal. Attach
one to each recipe and one to a Vision Board.
• Cut & Paste On Poster Board or
• Cut & Paste in picture program & Print Posters.
• Take pictures of your Vision Board & share on Social Media.
• Place Vision Board & Pictures Where You’ll See them.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals:
Make it Public
Step #9: Share
your goals with
others, especially
those who are
affected by the
goals – family,
friends, colleagues.
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence is not an act, but a habit.
-Aristotle
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Plan Your Work & Work
Your Plan
Step #10: Create and Calendar Activity Plan
• Create & Schedule Monthly Activity Plan
• Calendar time for weekly review.
• Calendar time to pre-plan every
day…suggest day or night before.
• Schedule tomorrow before it begins consistent
with your Goals.
S.M.A.R.T. Plan Your Work & Work Your
Plan
Step #10: Follow what you have calendared,
Track Results, and Share with Activity Partner
“Is what I am doing right now
moving me closer to or further
away from my goals?”
S.M.A.R.T. Goals: Plan Your Work & Work Your
Plan - Tracking
• Record your activity DAILY-Expect what you inspect.
• If you don’t track it, you probably won’t do it! Or worse, you will lie to
yourself about what you are really doing.
• Be accountable to your goals and dreams, by accounting for what
you are doing and sharing that with an accountability partner.
• Protect your self-esteem by “Doing What You Say You’ll Do...no
matter what!”
• Journal Every Day your progress towards your goals, how you feel
about your progress, and what you are grateful for.
