health and safety strategy our aspiration is to “create a thriving health and
safety culture”. Our strategy is based on engaging our workforce around the
beliefs and behaviours required to deliver on our health and safety goals
along with the leadership and systems that support our performance which
underpins our success.

with practical skills training, with the
guarantee of employment for candidates
who successfully completed the course. 80%
of these candidates not only successfully
completed the program, but are still employed
with us at various civil and mining operations.
They have also progressed from Rollers to
other machines, such as 785 haul trucks.
Rio Tinto Eight Mile Yard Project near
Karratha: A successful program to support
local, Traditional Owner, Aboriginal candidates
who faced serious barriers to employment
such as a lack of driver’s licence, no permanent

How we manage
our business
INTRODUCTION
The principles that guide our contracting business are contained
in the following documents which are reviewed regularly to ensure
they remain effective and appropriate:
Our CHARTER
TRISAFE
Business Plans
Business Management System (BMS)
Contract Management System (CMS)
Our Business Management Manual (BMM) demonstrates how all
these pieces fit together and is based on the ‘process approach’
defined in business management standards ISO 9001,
AS/NZS 4801 and AS/NZS 14001. It references work standards,
work procedures, forms and process documents that define
requirements commonly referred to as ‘policy’.
Integrated
Systems Solutions
BGC Contracting has developed fully integrated systems that provide total
solutions for maintenance and asset management. These integrated
systems include:
Project Controls
- Planning / Scheduling
- Procurement
- Financial (Purchasing, Payroll, Accounting)
Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Data Integration (Feed to/from client)
IT Support
HR Systems (Time Capture, Training, Competency)
Document Control System
All of the systems can be tailored to meet client needs both in terms of data
integration and reporting.
We are also currently implementing ruggerised mobile tablets that will
ensure that supervision and workforce in the field have immediate access to:
Planning (scheduling) tools
Drawing (2D and 3D) and specifications
GPS data
QA/QC documentations
Document control
This real time access to data and generation of field based check sheets
will eliminate a paper dependent system ensuring quality of documentation
completion in a timely manner. By leveraging our extensive on-site knowledge
and our skilled workforce and utilizing the above systems, we can provide
solutions to maintaining assets across a wide range of industries including
the resources, energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
