1. Expert Group – Forums
Open up your web browser (Firefox/Safari) and type in the url

for the OCC (http://occ.ibo.org). You might decide to
bookmark this on your computer for easy access later.
•Login to the OCC, on the left hand side you should see a
sidebar; click on “Forums”.
You’ll see category listings pop up, scroll down to the
•
Primary Years section. I would suggest starting with the forum
“Using the OCC”, from there move around, explore other
forums, play with your profile (top right hand of screen), find
something useful, perhaps even post something.
2. Your task: Explore your assigned area for a bit, then get together to talk
about what you learned and how you will share this with home groups. It’s
everyone’s responsibility to be able to explain what
‘forums’ is all about, and how it can be used to your
home group.
Expert Group – Resources
•Open up your web browser (Firefox/Safari) and type in the url for the
OCC (http://occ.ibo.org). You might decide to bookmark this on your
computer for easy access later.
•Login to the OCC, on the left hand side you should see a sidebar;
click on “View resources”. You will also need to view “Add
resources”.
3. • You will see a list of resources pop up, some are rated, you can click on ‘more’ to read
more details about the resource. If you want to view it, you’ll need to download it. Click on
the icon, another window will pop up asking if you want to save or open it. You can
choose open and then choose an application to open it
with like Microsoft Word.
• Try using the search tool on the right hand side.
• Don’t forget to check out how to add your own resources.

how it can be used to your home group.
Expert Group – E-Library & News
• Open up your web browser (Firefox/Safari) and type in the url for the
OCC (http://occ.ibo.org). You might decide to

• Login to the OCC, In the middle of the PYP home page, you should see a
link to the “E-library”, click on that and explore
what’s available in this section of the OCC.
• Once you’ve checked that out, take a look at the
sidebar on the right hand side called “OCC News”.
Explore this area to find out more about it.

responsibility to be able to explain what the ‘E-library and ‘OCC News’ is all
about, and how it can be used to your home group.
5. Expert Group – PYP Exhibition
• Open up your web browser (Firefox/Safari) and type in the url for the
OCC (http://occ.ibo.org). You might decide to bookmark this on your
computer for easy access later.
• Login to the OCC, In the middle of the PYP
home page, you should see a link called “PYP exhibition”, click on that
and explore what’s available in this section of the OCC.
• A new window pops up when you click the link. AISD won’t be expected
to start an exhibition unit until the year after we’re authorized but it’s got
some great examples of inquiry and action in the samples. Have a look
around.

all about, and how it can be used to your home group.
Expert Group – Musical Journey
• Open up your web browser (Firefox/Safari) and type in the url for the
OCC (http://occ.ibo.org). You might decide to bookmark this on your
computer for easy access later.
• Login to the OCC, In the middle of the PYP home
page, you should see a link called “Musical
journey”, click on that and explore what’s available in this section of the
OCC.
7. • A new window pops up when you click on the link, allowing you to select
which IB program you want to explore. I suggest looking at PYP first but
please feel free to explore the other areas as well once you’ve got a good
idea about what’s available and of interest to the PYP.

all about, and how it can be used to your home group.
Expert Group – Support
areas
• Open up your web browser

might decide to bookmark this on your computer for easy access later.
• Login to the OCC, along the top under the main title you should see a
menu bar shades of green. One of the links on this menu bar is called
“Support areas”, please roll your cursor over this label and a pop up
menu appears below it.
• Explore the different areas under the heading ‘Support’

offered on the OCC, and how these can be used to your home group.
