I was stationed at the Assay and geochemical laboratory where I was exposed to
lots of analytical equipment’s as well as handson experience. My main duties and
responsibilities included:
 Routine laboratorywork such as sample preparation,weighing, drying and
digestion.
 Total sample dissolutionby AquaRegia, Hydrofluoric acid and boric acid for
whole rock, soil andsediment analysis usingAAS.
 Analysis of raw water samples and effluents to determine pH, nitrates,
fluorides, phosphates,alkalinity, sulphatesandmetal cations using
titrimetric procedures, AAS and UV Vis spectroscopy.
 Gravimetric analysisof SO3 by BaCl2 precipitation
 Preparationof sample pellets for analysis using XRF.
