5. Il workshop di oggi
• Tempistiche:
• 15:00 – Presentazione FPM-DL&C, JamToday, e
Game Jams in generale
• 15:30 – Games per la didattica: cosa sono
• 16.00 – Sperimentazione di alcuni video giochi
didattici
• 16:30 – Conclusioni e discussione finale
6. Qual è lo scopo di questo
incontro
• Introdurre (o approfondire) i concetti di serious
game e game jam;
• Sperimentarne alcuni in maniera diretta;
• Esplorare le loro potenzialità didattiche nel campo
dell’informatica (e non solo);
• Chiederci se possono essere utilizzati nei vostri
corsi;
tecnologia dal puro entertainment alla didattica;
educativo;
• Stimolare l’apprendimento di materie a volte
considerate più ‘ostiche’;
• Favorire l’apprendimento di gruppo;
• Aumentare la ritenzione delle informazioni tramite la
sperimentazione diretta;
• Insegnare meglio argomenti ‘etici’;
…elenchiamone altri assieme…
13. Giochi e didattica:
diverse tipologie
• Uso di giochi commerciali per insegnare specifiche
materie:
• Giochi con una propria componente
educativo/didattica intrinseca (es. simulazioni storiche
come Civilisation)
http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization
morali, come Walking Dead)

become the main characters in the game. They can choose between Jim or Sofia, who, due to certain
circumstances, end up on the street and need to find their own path.

Darfur is Dying is a viral video game for change that provides a window into the experience of the 2.5
million refugees in the Darfur region of Sudan. Players must keep their refugee camp functioning in the face
of possible attack by Janjaweed militias. Players can also learn more about the genocide in Darfur that has
taken the lives of 400,000 people, and find ways to get involved to help stop this human rights and
humanitarian crisis.

piacciono tutti i giochi!)
particolari;
• chiunque può giocarci e in modo facile;
• però tratta l'utente come una persona stupida;
la zampa;

32. Giochi e didattica:
diverse tipologie
‘elettronici’ in senso stretto:
• GBL – Game Based Learning.
• Gamification.
• Es. Heineken ha lanciato Crack The US Open, originale

34. Andiamo oltre:
facciamo progettare i
giochi agli studenti
35. Vantaggi del far ideare dei
giochi agli studenti – 1/2
• Far creare dei giochi come processo educativo volto
a sviluppare negli studenti:
termine
• Capacità di collaborare online
• Auto-imprenditorialità
• Preparazione ai lavori ‘del futuro’
36. Vantaggi del far ideare dei
giochi agli studenti – 2/2
• Mettere in pratica quanto appreso in determinate
materie:
• Inglese
• Disegno/arte
• Matematica
• Informatica (ovviamente)
• Economia
• …

41. Cosa può nascere da una
game jam ‘normale’? 1/2
• Bushy The Flying Cat
• Meet Bushy. To everyone,
Bushy's just a cat. Bushy
personally doesn't see himself
as a cat. To himself, he truly
believes he is a bird. Everyone,
the birds, the world he is in,
including the audience, well...
we all know what he is. Initially
the idea is that, when he
comes across objects, say a
cloud or lightning, he becomes
it. To fulfill his dream, he seeks
out the well of wishes. Let's
join Bushy in his journey to
become one.
42. Cosa può nascere da una
game jam ‘normale’? 2/2
• Bushy The Flying Cat
• Diversifiers:
• You Only Live Thrice:
The player only has 3 lives and
each level starts over when
you die.
• Homo Sapiens are Boring:
The game is meant to be
played by cats.
• I am who I want to be:
The game has characters, but
nothing in their design
suggests a gender.

Il team 1/2
• Lavoro in team:
47. Testimonianza: Compilator
Il team 2/2
• Composizione finale:
- 1 artista 2D
- 2 artisti 3D modellatori
- 1 prof di informatica
- 1 prof di teatro (musica)
- 1 game designer
- 2 programmatori
48. Testimonianza: Compilator
Fasi di lavoro
• Brainstorming classico
• Sviluppo:
• Semplici prototipi in Unity con cubi e sfere
• artista 2D fa i personaggi
• modellazione dei personaggi, dell'ambientazione e degli
oggetti
• sostituzione dentro il prototipo degli elementi 3D
49. Testimonianza: Compilator
gruppi a lungo termine
Torino
