Prospective Firm
Please locate my resume for a full time position at your company. I am a MEP Designer with a
bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University hoping to find full time
employment as an MEP designer. My primary inclination is towards mechanical and plumbing
design, however I am well equipped to tackle electrical work as well.
I have a passion for the architectural engineering industry. When entering the ARE program at
K-State this field immediately struck a chord with me. The way these systems operate can be
beautiful, and I see working on them as a thing of beauty, as well as logic. I suppose I am an
atypical designer, as I find a freedom in being able to come to multiple correct conclusions, and
not have only one, objectively right answer. The idea that an amount of creativity needs to be
applied is one that excites me.
I am a tenacious and goal driven individual, one who is persistent in solution finding. It is no
secret that my path has been full of adversity. But if it were in my character to give in, I would
not be writing this letter today. Through hard work and will-power I have succeeded where
others would falter. My time spent at K-State has taught me how to overcome obstacles,
regardless of their size. Working at Dialetic, with many talented engineers, showed me
modesty, and gave me purpose in becoming better each day. I strive for continuous, never
ending improvement. I shall not be crushed by the hardships in my path. I believe in ‘ad astra
per aspera’, “to the stars through difficulty”.
In my free time, I am a writer of fiction. It is my goal always to expand my horizons and train my
creative nature. Some would say that being a creative writer is the antithesis of engineering,
however it is my view that the two are interlocked. Engineering is merely the result of creative
expression applied to a system. A building can be art, but not based on architectural merit
alone. Without the engineering it cannot function, it is not a building, it is a statue. For a
building to be art the engineering must be there, in creative harmony with the rest.
This position would be an excellent way for me to continue forging my engineering career, and I
hope you will grant an interview. If you wish to contact me, you can reach me at my email:
mbunyard91@gmail.com anytime, or by cell-phone at 316-213-5516. Thank you.
Kind regards,
