Laos is a landlocked country located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Thailand, and Burma. It has a population of 6.4 million people, with a capital of Vientiane. The dominant language is Lao and the main religion is Buddhism. One of the most popular tourist attractions is the Pak Ou Caves located north of Luang Prabang on the Mekong River, which can be accessed by road or river boat and contain hundreds of Buddhist statues inside the caves.
