2. Hi, I’m Melanie.
I’m a fellow and project lead with the
Experience Institute.
We are reinventing traditional graduate education
by blurring the lines between work and school.
We empower a community of individuals to
self-design a year of learning to help them
explore, pivot, or hone their career path.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
4. I’ve spent the last seven years of my career
building bridges between sectors,
empowering schools through design,
and
helping communities solve challenges creatively.

OFFICE OF NEW SCHOOLS
5. I geek out about
how organizations work and scale,
thoughtfully designed experiences,
and
systems-shifting services.
I pursued degrees in social
policy, business, and
leadership.
I was also known to lead
backpacking trips, do improv,
direct theater, and
curate events.
I studied service design and
am a research partner in the
CIID making + learning group.
More importantly, I fell in love
with biking infrastructure and
Danish life.
I’ve lectured and mentored,
at a variety of institutions.
I view teaching as a crucial part
of reflecting on my practical
experience.
6. I have an expanding toolkit of skills.
I’m most at home in these roles:
facilitator, strategist, researcher, storyteller, instigator,
partnership builder, project lead, + teammate.
