This is part of my blog on Event-Driven Ansible. IBM/Red Hat has developed an extension to their Ansible engine which triggers Playbooks based on our defined logic by constantly listening to events. This gives some scope for further automation by observing the system, evaluating when events are received, and finally acting on it to either automatically resolve the issue or by notifying support staffs for manual intervention; sort of like the Kubernetes Kube Control Manager or the AWS EventBridge. This can be easily added to your existing tech stack whether monolithic, SOA, microservices or even serverless. Monitoring tools observing security or just health of your servers usually create incidents and send alerts to admins, but now typical repetitive tasks can easily auto-handled.
