Introduced in Italy on August 23, the Volkswagen T-Roc hopes to lure
younger buyers looking for a compact crossover. Production will take
place in Portugal, India, and China, At 166.7 inches (4,234mm) long,
VW’s littlest CUV measures about 10 inches shorter than the Tiguan.
The coupe-like silhouette was designed to be “bold” and “confident”.

Short overhangs combine with a long 102-inch (2,603mm) wheelbase
and hood to give the T-Roc a sportier style. Behind the rear seat is 15.7
cubic feet (445 liters) of cargo space. Powertrain choices include gas
(1.0L and 2.5L) and turbodiesel (1.6L and 2.0L) engines with 6-speed
manual and 7-speed DSG transmissions in front- or 4Motion all-wheel
drive configurations.

The driver-oriented interior features a 8.2-inch touch-screen and
configurable instrument panel. VW’s 4Motion with “Active Control” is
adjustable to adapt to different conditions and terrain.
