Samaa has been working in a wide variety of development issues since 2002. As a researcher, she has studied street children, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), child mortality, social cohesion, poverty, gender, education, innovation, art for development, and many others. She has worked and volunteered as an educator, social researcher, mentor, and coach for several years. She has also offered consultancy in several fields and in various issues, mainly but not restricted to development issues.
