1. Lesbian & Gay Tendencies – A modern Astrologer perspective
Astrology is based on principle of reincarnation, and is reborn with some
purpose in life. Recently, Baba Ramdev, a contemporary yoga guru, and now
a popular businessman, talked about curing persons with Gay / Lesbian
tendencies, I wondered why the yogic gurus and sages not address this?
Why did no vaidacharya tried to address this during the olden times? A
classic example that is worth a mention is that of Shikhandi, proving the age-
adage that ‘Every person has a purpose in their present lives’. I am confident
that there were competent practitioners of both yoga (Shikhandi’s previous
avatar, as Amba) and doctors (ayurvedic and otherwise) would have ‘cured’
any such malefic intent through yogic ayurveda or through astrological
practices / remedies itself. The rest, as they say is history, and without the
contribution of Shikhandi, during the times of Lord Krishna (the Supreme
Lord himself), the war would have had a very different result, pivoting
history itself.
All human beings have both masculine and feminine tendencies. The
Ardthnarishwara form of Lord Shiva is explicit in its acceptance of this
concept of the supreme nature. Astrologically speaking, out of twelve signs,
six (odd ones) are male signs and the balance six (even ones) are feminine
signs. All Nine planets are assigned to the male, female dominion and the
eunuch status.
Thus, simply putting facts together, if a male is born with maximum planets
in female signs, he is bound to have feminine tendencies, both outwardly,
and inwardly. This ‘is clearly based on the planetary positions in the
constellations or Nakshatras, which defines feminine or gay tendencies. The
strength of the lunar position (moon) which controls the mind in the natal
horoscope, and the Dasha sequence, would define the tendencies or sexual
orientations or preferences.
Interestingly, considering the laws of nature, females are very sexually
powerful, in comparison to their male counterparts, both from an astrological
and Ayurveda view point too. They have a natural gift of hiding their
sexuality in public life. If a female horoscope demonstrates maximum
influence of female signs, and as well as the influence of male signs; the
tendencies of lesbian behaviors are very high. In the former case, they look
out for emotional bonding and in the later case the desire to have control
derives their behavior. Thus, the percentage of people having Lesbian
tendencies is very high as compared to persons having gay tendencies. The
western world has accepted both gay and lesbian tendencies openly, but the
Indian society is yet to open-up to this natural positionprescribed by nature!
For females with lesbian tendencies, life is not easy! The strong desire of
both motherhood, coupled with social / parental and, in some cases,

2. economic position, coerces them to marry male counterparts, which is
contrary to their nature. From an astrological point of view, the moon sign
represents ones thinking and the sun sign indicates outward personality.
During the month of Shraawan (Mid-July to Mid-August) the Sun transits
over Karka (Cancer) sign which is the owned by Moon. During this time, the
planet Venus, which represents beauty, sex & love making is in its own sign.
Thus, during this time, the feminine desires are at peak, and very difficult to
hide. Our Great Sages were informed and very intelligent about this and
devised a novel way of keeping everyone satisfied. They advised for all
married couples to remain away from each other, thus females were coerced
to go back to their native / parental house, where they would mingle with
their childhood and close friends, including, but not limited to, their male
counterparts. They were also free to meet their Gay partners without any
inhibitions. This window of four weeks was socially acceptable for both
feminine and other tendencies, while adhering to social norms, contributing
to the continuity of society. From my small but in depth experience, studying
horoscopes of multiple people, spread across various strata’s of society, can
safely claim that people normally encounters their first / amicable partner of
choice, during this period.
To corroborate further on my findings, in line with the great guru’s, in the
following pages, would like to share two specific examples.
Example 1
The above chart is of a male from very affluent business family of India. All
the planets are in female signs and in Navmansha(D-9) chart seven planets
are in female signs. He was under tremendous sociological pressure to get
into happy matrimony, which the said subject tried to postpone on some or
the other pretext. Needless to say, that he was reluctant to accept and later

3. communicate his gay tendencies, but post a few conversations and
counseling sessions, he demonstrated socially acceptable abilities and was at
ease during the Astro-Counselling discussions with me. I advised him to
socially accept his sexual preferences and prescribed easy execute ‘upaayas’
(remedies) to counter the social stigma and gather mental peace. The person
is presently living a quality but normal life with no social stigma.
Example 2
The above example is of a female from a humble middle class family, born
and brought in a small town. Most of the planets are in male signs and D-9
chart too corroborates the same. When the said lady approached me, she
was reached with the issue that she was unable to conceive had adjustment
issues with his husband, whom she revered. A few remedies were all that
was needed for the couple, but post the said lady’s conception, there was a
huge lull. To her dismay, but good fortune, she reached out to me after few
years, though she was in total disarray. On top of being socially torn between
her childhood lover (obviously, female), and her familial / social stigmas, she
was trapped by some obscure female tantric, who exploited her both
physically and financially and dumped her without any reason. It was a
challenging task for me and it took a few dedicated months of counselling to
bring her to her normal state of mind. Presently, she is living a quality life,
while maintaining harmony with her female lover, and family / society.
There are various remedies to tone down the influence of some of the malefic
planets, however, with the active participation of the afflicted person, a
knowledgeable astrologer / practitioner can judge the right kind of path,
basis chosen path (karma) to not fall for unscrupulous partners. Most of the

4. traditional astrologers look down towards these people; without giving a
fresh thought in the light of historical facts. The scriptures are replete with
multiple instances wherein the complete society accepted and supported
these sexual orientations, from the Ramayana, to Mahabharatha to the
Zenana culture of the recent but historically important Mughal dynasty.
To close, I would like to quote my favorite guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
"Accept all humans as your equals, and let them be your only sect" (Japji 28),
and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji : "Manas ki jat sabhe eke paihcanbo”- meaning,
‘recognize all of mankind as a single caste of humanity’.
