About OYO
● Oravel PVT.LTD was founded by Ritesh Agarwal, a 17 year old college dropout
from Orissa in 2012
● In 2013 he pivoted Oravel to OYO Rooms, the name Oyo means “on your
own”, nothing but an idea to create India’s largest chain of efficient, young
and standardised budget rooms
● In 2014 Ritesh Agarwal was selected for Thiel fellowship which gave him a
funding of $100,000. Further he also received more fundings in the same
year which helped him grow his business
● In 2016 OYO rooms expanded their business internationally starting from
Malaysia further continuing in Nepal and Bhutan
● In 2018 they began to establish operations in UK, UAE, China, Singapore and
Indonesia making it one of the most successful ventures of its kind
● As of now OYO has 330,000 rooms in over 500+ cities
Why does OYO require an
Email Marketing Strategy?
OYO needs an email marketing strategy because it will help them for promotional
marketing i.e making their customer aware about their new offers and discounts, festival
marketing and weekend getaway plans, Brand recalls on special occasions and now amidst
the Covid-19 (Moment Marketing) they can have emails related to that giving out
information,piece of advice etc. (For eg. OYO has kept themselves open in this situation they
can email their customers and tell them to inform their family members too that if they are
stuck OYO is always open for them)
OBJECTIVES:-
1. It will create an awareness among customers.
2. It will also help to know who are interested in their brand.
3. Increase traffic to website.
4. Better Brand recognition .
5. Customers will remain more engaged when they receive a mail regarding their new
offers, Act as reminder and stay in the minds of their customers.
