Tim Muehl Vitae Teaching Experience
Teaching Statement
My philosophy of education is to prepare the student with practical and
necessary information to develop academic success and to prepare the student
for the next level of their college education. By the completion of my course(s)
students should understand complex activities on both the theoretical level and
on a practical level so they can apply them to their life experiences as well as
college.
Courses Taught
Biology and Anatomy & Physiology pre-requisites for students with majors in: Nursing,
Physical Therapy, EMT and Dental Hygiene
Students that had been accepted in their major in: Nursing and EMT programs at
Edison
Students were preparing in a community college setting to transfer science course
work to major university’s in Florida
Introductory Biology as a pre-requisite for Anatomy for prospective Nursing students
Students were recent high school graduates who had not been to college or were
returning to college after being in another career
Prepared students for the rigors of their academic major course work
Developed learning strategies to allow students to achieve success academically
Teaching Skills
Preparing lectures, presentations, activities and exams
Using PowerPoint, Keynote, Word, Pages, and Excel
Developing summary exercises for chapters and key concepts
Use of PPT, white board, and promethean board for instruction
Laboratory set up, facilitation and break down
Inventory and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
Development and preparation of independent laboratories to supplement course
laboratories and lectures
Demonstrations on the practical level to allow students to visualize complex processes
Developed website to post course materials and communicate information with students
