Queen is a British rock band formed in 1971 in London, originally consisting of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor. The band's early works were influenced by progressive rock but they later incorporated more diverse styles. Freddie Mercury was the lead singer and songwriter, known for his powerful vocals and flamboyant performances. He wrote many of Queen's biggest hits. Brian May is the guitarist who uses a homemade guitar and also wrote several Queen hits. Roger Taylor is the drummer and occasional singer, known for his unique sound. John Deacon was the youngest member at 19 and wrote some of Queen's most popular singles.
