2. I would first like to thank you for your interest in NetGain Technologies.
As a family owned business, we have expanded into a regional footprint.
Our clients think of us as a local IT services and solutions partner, regardless
of our increasing size and national capabilities. And while we solve problems
for large and small companies across a wide range of industries, we know it
comes down to people building trusting relationships.
One way we are able to develop trusting relationships is through our depth
of engineering certifications and direct support lines to authorized channels.
Some IT providers lack certified staff and depend on customer support
agreements to access manufacturers directly. We don’t. When you call,
you can count on us to be responsive.
It is with this core belief that I place my guarantee on your experiences
with NetGain Technologies; from basic follow-up to the complex services
and solutions we employ for the success of your business.
If there is anything I can do to help, I encourage you to contact me directly
at 859.226.1999.

6. Security
Every company possesses a wide range of high-value information.
The question you must ask yourself is: What are the chances that this
data will be compromised, and how would that impact your company?
Unfortunately, you cannot simply buy security controls and then assume
everything is protected. IT security is a continual process that
includes effective monitoring and management. Effective
security risk management involves the following process:
Assigned responsibility for risk management
Periodic risk analysis
Established policies and procedures to limit risk
A vulnerability management process
Ongoing monitoring and management
Annual security plan
Securing high value information has both
short- and long-term benefits including:
Improved preparation for evolving
network security threats
Established policies and procedures
help you to comply with regulations including
HIPAA, PCI, GLBA, SOX, J-SOX and more
Appropriate policies and security controls for BYOD
(bring your own device)
Structured security process with assigned responsibilities
Proactive security management plan with controls and review

7. Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II
NetGain Technologies has achieved Service Organization
Controls (SOC) 2 Type II certification. The SOC 2 report
is designed to certify the security, integrity, availability,
confidentiality and/or privacy (Trust Service Principles) as we
work with client’s data. Service organizations are held to a
standardized set of controls criteria for each of the principles
covered in their report. Completion of the SOC 2 Type II
examination process proves NetGain Technologies’ processes,
procedures and controls have been tested and approved
annually by an independent accounting and auditing firm.
Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
Under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Account-
ability Act of 1996, a business associate agreement (BAA)
is required. NetGain Technologies provides the appropriate
establishments with this agreement as requested.
8. “The cloud” refers to shared distributed resources that you
may or may not control or own, typically off-premise. Businesses
are increasingly using a hybrid solution which includes cloud and
on premise resources. These options are often less complicated
and generally less expensive.
Business Benefits of Cloud
• Converts capital expenditures (Cap-Ex) to operating
expenditures (Op-Ex) for IT hardware and services that can
be expensed monthly rather than one big initial expense
• Allows a business to be more flexible and agile
• Provides reliable access anytime, anywhere
• Frees up staff to focus on more meaningful projects
One of the biggest challenges is determining how to use the
Cloud for your specific needs. NetGain Technologies provides
many cloud configuration options and can help you determine
what will work best for your business.

Hosted Backup
Hosted Disaster Recovery
Hosted Replication

10. Storage
The world’s data is expected to grow by a factor of 50 over the next
decade, according to an IDC study. To prepare for this increase, your core
storage solution must be scalable. We typically see storage life-cycles
between four and six years with today’s growth. That life-cycle can shorten
significantly, unless you start with the appropriate solution.
Storage solutions strategies:
• Reclaim stranded or unused storage through deduplication
and consolidation methodology
• Data at rest encryption
• Predictable cost model for exploding storage growth
• 99.999% level of high availability
• Flexible connectivity with ethernet or block protocol
Storage & Virtualization
Server & Desktop Virtualization
As the business and IT worlds continue to collide, executives remain
focused on three areas: reducing costs, improving efficiencies and
minimizing risk. Virtualizing your data center and desktops can impact
each of these areas. It is not only about consolidation, it’s also about
making your business critical applications mobile, protected, available
and redundant. Your business becomes faster, safer and more reliable.
Server Virtualization benefits
Increase management visibility within the virtualization
environment with tools that proactively assess and learn
Provide predictable future sizing using strategic tools
Identify hotspots within the virtual environment which
creates application latencies

Desktop Virtualization benefits
Delivers the dream of homogenous computing across
all network users
Secures documents, as they never leave the data center
Achieve your desktop experience on any device including
your favorite phone or tablet

11. In the event of a disaster, does your business have a plan? How long
can you really afford to be down? A few hours, days, weeks? Do you
test if the covered data can be restored? Who’s responsible for checking
your backups?
Most people relate disaster recovery to data loss caused by a natural
disaster. However, only five percent of data loss is caused this way.
Seventy-three percent is caused by systems failure (55 percent hardware
failure, 18 percent software failure) and 22 percent by human error.
So if you’re not too concerned that a natural disaster will destroy your
business, you’re probably right. But the likelihood of your systems
experiencing downtime for other reasons is significant.
Good leaders will be ready with a disaster
recovery plan.
Benefits of Disaster
Recovery Solutions
• Reduces the risk of business failure
• Minimizes tough, frantic decision-
making during a disaster
• Improves security and reduces
exposure to liabilities
Disaster Recovery
Backup is your first and last line of defense to mitigate risk and data
loss. Simply put, when users in an organization lose important electronic
documents, backup is able to recover them. It serves as “plan B” for your
organization to reproduce critical business data.
In the event of data loss, backup allows you to quickly restore original files.
But do not confuse backup with archiving or assume that it is a complete
disaster recovery solution – it is not.
Backup Benefits:
• Reproduces critical business data
• Serves as the support pole of your business
• Assists with regulatory compliance
• Provides ability to recall data lost on an endpoints
(desktop, laptop, etc.)
Backup
What’s the
difference between
DR & Backup?
DR brings your data back online
quickly, within a specific period of time
and back to a specific point in time.
Backup data protection is a time
machine that holds your data
and aims to protect it.
12. Unified communications (progressively known as
collaboration) integrates real-time communications
such as instant messaging, presence information,
telephony, and video conferencing with non-real-time
communication, including voicemail, email, SMS
and fax. This enables your employees to stay better
connected with faster access and response times that
will improve productivity and have a positive impact
on the bottom line.
Unified
Communications
Unified Communications Advantages
• Phone system failover – which you have never
had before
• Voicemail to email
• Option to incorporate Cisco Jabber
• Easy management using single pane of glass
• Ability for virtualization – with virtualization, you get:
Multiple hosts to provide redundancy
Multiple collaboration applications per host
Cost savings through reduction of physical hardware
