Introduction to CRY Normally the word CRY described as to sob or shed tears because of grief, sorrow or pain but here it’s totally contrary. To make precise CRY can completely take off the tears of young children who is in need and seeking for their survival. CRY: Child Rights and You. It’s a Non Governmental and Non Profit able Organizations which was established to uplift thousands of Indian children denied basic children’s rights. It’s also most commonly termed as Child Relief and You which aims to restore Children’s rights in India. The organization was established in the year 1979.
Founder of CRY Child Rights and You were started by Rippan Kapur, who died in the year of 1994 at the age of 40. In 1979, 7 friends made a simple decision to change the lives of India's underprivileged children. Rs. 50 and a dining table as their resources and a belief that each one can make a difference in a child's life, they aimed to enable all children to realize their full potential. This was how CRY began. They opted to make CRY a channel or a link between the millions of individuals who could provide resources (in the form of donations) and the thousands of dedicated fieldworkers who were struggling to function for lack of them. The Organization is mainly focuses on 4 basic rights, which is categorized as Survival, Development, Protection and Participation
Principles of CRY The CRC is built on certain "Foundation Principles" which confers the following basic rights on all children across the world, without any discrimination: * Survival: The right to survival, to life, health, nutrition, name and nationality. * Development: The right to development of education, care, leisure, and recreation. * Protection: The right to protection from exploitation, abuse and neglect. * Participation: The right to participation in expression, information, thought and religion. CRY works to ensure these rights to all categories of children, who could be street children, children bonded in labor, children of commercial sex workers, physically and mentally challenged children and children in juvenile institutions, or even children in privileged homes.
Additional Goals of CRY To organize and operate a ranch for disadvantage youth, for rehabilitation, and support services. To produce and offer Child Safety Programming for the classroom, cable television, and PBS. To produce the feature film "A Child's Cry, Souls in Need...". (**This film will be an awakening to society to become aware of the great tragedy going on daily in these hopeless children's lives, while offering simple solutions which could greatly alter if not rid child homelessness, and to prepare them to be a part of our great nation by receiving a top education) ,[object Object],[object Object]
