3. Superman – 1978 CGI animation first started of very basic and was usually combined with hand drawn animation as computer technology wasn’t so advanced back then. The quality of the images weren't so great and were pretty poor, although the colour had a great impact on the film. The storyline wasn’t too bad and was found pretty interesting . Superman was a great hit back then and was a good example of CGI animation, as it also gives a good idea on how CGI animation still has a long way to go.

4. Toy Story - 1995 Toy story was a good film with a very imaginative storyline. It was also one of the first fully CGI animated films to have been made. As you can see the characters and graphics of the film aren’t too bad but their not very detailed and are quite basic although, the film runs very smoothly and has a good storyline. The sound for the characters and the music are suitable for the film. The colours are very bright and sharp, although in some cases are quiet simple. CGI animation continues to advance throughout the years.

5. Shrek 3 - 2007 Shrek 3 - the latest Shrek released, is a typical 21 st century CGI animated film, which was and still is a very popular film. CGI animation developed in many different ways, giving images a very realistic even 3D feel to the image in very high quality, with a wide variety of colours, all these making the film look extremely professional. The film consists of many different characters and has a much more complex storyline whilst still making the film run smoothly. As computer technology develops, as we can see, so does the quality of CGI animation.
