Scrum provides a framework for product development but does not explicitly support innovation. The company Flexfone implemented a "Hack Week" process where they took one week outside of normal sprints to allow employees to work on new project ideas without deadlines. This resulted in several functional prototype projects that showed the potential for innovation while using scrum as the normal process for product development.
