What do Californians think about Artificial Intelligence?

  1. 1. WHAT DO CALIFORNIANS THINK ABOUT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE? We asked citizens across the state to find out.
  2. 2. • McGuire Research Services polled 1,000 California adults for Accenture in February 2018. • Global and US data are from a survey of 6,031 citizens aged 18 or older in October- November 2017 (Multi-country survey included: Australia 1,005; France 1,000; Germany 1,011; Singapore 1,001; UK 1,004; US 1,010). All rights reserved. 3 WHAT WE LEARNED: • Nearly 6 in 10 Californians are comfortable using AI in some aspects of their day to day life. • Most Californians also say they would support the use of AI to deliver government services more efficiently (54%), provide quicker responses to questions (58%) and make services available after normal business hours (61%). • Only 40% of Californians are confident that AI would be used ethically and responsibly by government.
