A survey of 1,000 California adults found that: - 56% are already comfortable using artificial intelligence in some aspects of daily life, higher than US and global averages. - Over half support using AI to deliver more efficient government services and provide quicker responses to questions. - However, only 40% are confident AI would be used ethically and responsibly by the government.

For the purpose of this survey, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is
described to respondents as chatbots, robots, virtual
assistants, intelligent machines, etc., such as Alexa or
Google Home.

WHAT WE
LEARNED:
• Nearly 6 in 10 Californians are comfortable
using AI in some aspects of their day to day
life.
• Most Californians also say they would support
the use of AI to deliver government services
more efficiently (54%), provide quicker
responses to questions (58%) and make
services available after normal business hours
(61%).
• Only 40% of Californians are confident that AI
would be used ethically and responsibly by
government.
