What is Twitter?
Twitter is a micro-blogging service which aims to share
140 character-length shortmessages via internet with
your followers and world.

The aim of that presentation is to show you
how to use Twitter effectively rather than how to use
Twitter.

4. 1. Find People You Already Know!
- After being a registered member of
Twitter, your first step should be to find
your friends in Twitter.
- To do that, you need to go the address
http://twitter.com/who_to_follow/import
and add your e-mails to find your friends.
- With that, you will have a good chance to
add a few new readers, and there’s an even
better chance that those people will follow
you in return.
- Because these are your personal
contacts, they’re likely to pay closer
attention to you, place you in a list of “real
people” and are probably more inclined to
retweet you.

- After you have joined and got used to
Twitter, you need to follow trending topics
and join the conversations about them!
- With coolest trend feature, you can
easily see what is going on in a part of
world and what the trends are. So your
tweets about that topics will be more
effective.
- You can also change the location of
Trends to learn about the topics in other
countries. And understand the
supply/demand relation of that country.

9. 4. Pay Attention to Your Followers!
- After you started to gain some new
followers, it is time to show your attention
for your followers.
- The most important thing in Twitter is;
you need to answer all the mentions from
your followers and messages to you from
others.
- If you can do it, you will gain awareness
very fast and get lots of mentions.
- Also you need to re-share the best ideas
and best mentions coming to you, with
retweet feature of Twitter. It is very
effective.

If you pay attention to your followers, you can easily trace that your trend graph will improve.

- So the increase in the number of your
profile visitors will directly affect the
number of your followers.

- Last but the most important step is start of contest
giving carrots! Play little games via Twitter

- As you can clearly see from the right-
side, I wrote that “I will give a free-pass for
the Interactive Marketing Summit
event, to one of my followers who retweet
my tweet” and i got 28 reactions. I did it
on 14th September.
- The most important thing for carrots is
this; “You need to do what that you said, if
you promise something on Twitter!”
