Running its second edition, anasr.org's Algerian Paper of the Year Awards is an annual initiative to recognise the achievements of Algerian scientists and researchers and to promote excellence in academic publishing. Awards
¤ To be considered for the Awards, papers are need to be
nominated after which they undergo a rigorous
shortlisting and peer review stages to determine the
winning papers.
¤ The first edition of the Awards was launched in 2013 and
attracted a lot of interest.
¤ Today, we will be awarding the winning papers across
the 5 categories and celebrate the achievements of all
the nominated papers.

14. From Nomination to Awards
Nominations
Criteria of accepting papers: 1) The bulk of the published work must have been carried out in an
Algerian university or research organisation and 2) Papers must have been published in a peer
reviewed journal, magazine or proceedings between the 1 of January 2013 and the 31st of
December 2013
Short-listing
Nominated papers were examined by 19 different scientists to short-list
the top 5 papers per discipline. Short-listers are asked to consider the following:
1) is the work new? 2) Is it of current interest in the field? 3) How well are the experiments
and analyses presented? 4) Is the work of great significance?
Reviewing
Short-listed papers were then reviewed by 22 experts who scored the papers on:
1) Novelty of the reported work, 2) Quality of experimental work, 3) Significance of findings,
4) Presentation and 5) Potential impact.
