MIcheal Phelps, the aqua gladiator, is a phenomenon. there are many things to be learnt from him. This presentation depicts the take aways from the life of the greatest olympian ever.
3. An ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) person
has very little control over that which his mind Hyper
Focuses on. Michael has the benefit that which he Hyper
Focuses on is useful in building a swimming career;
however, if Michael’s mind had focused on insect collecting
instead, I don’t think he would be praised so much…!!!
4. HYPER
FOCUSING..
He has paddle-like
hands, possesses
nuclear calves and is
uniquely flexible.
Wing span is 3
inches more than
his height
Phelps is doublejointed in the
chest area
His shark like
Concentration, hi
s Spirit, his
Determination
Lesser lactic acid
production in his
body The lactic
acid build up is
extremely low and
he is the only
known swimmer to
have had a 5.6
oxygen starvation
level after a race!
He has the
prototypical
swimmer body, he
has an extremely
long torso;
5. Michael Phelps has ADHD, his laser like concentration, the mental part of
his makeup, believe it or not, is rather normal for most people with
ADHD. It is called Hyper Focusing.
“Hyper Focusing allows us to concentrate on something
so intensely that we cannot break away from whatever we are focusing
on, it can provide supreme drive and motivation. Hyper Focusing is a
major cause of dilemma and strife, it can be more of a distraction than
anything else. It is often said that kids with ADHD cannot focus and
concentrate in school, that’s not entirely true, it is just that these kids
are focusing on other things – day dreams, that butterfly outside the
window, or maybe something they want to do outside of class (like
ISHAN in TAARE ZAMEEN PAR..!!!)
6. "I listen to Eminem on my headphones.
I don't know the name of it but I think that
just listening to that fires me up. It's
working so far I just hope it keeps up." Michael Phelps
7. STRENGTH: His
confidence, his Stamina, &
his VISION to do where
no one can even think
about..
WEAKNESS: As being
patient of ADHD he was
not normal man but he
used his abnormality as
his STRENGTH…
OPPORTUNITY: To
represent himself in .
Olympics & to prove
himself as being
abnormal he can
do, what the normal
man can’t do..!!
THREAT: Ryan Lochte
another competitor of
his own country…
MICHAEL
PHELPS
To utilize his weakness as
his STRENGTH as he has
god gifted miracles in his
body structure…You
can't put a limit on
anything. The more you
dream, the farther you
get.”
DYNAMICS OF MICHAEL
PHELPS…!!!!
As USA has great
records in
Olympics so there
was too much of
pressure on Phelps
to perform better
than before…
10. KEY SUCCESS FACTOR OF MICHAEL PHELPS…!!!
Wing span is 3 inches more than his height, which makes his hands like act like a
paddle and provides perfect levers for him to pull himself through the water.
Huge feet provide the effect of flippers and his ankles, which are hyper mobile
(double jointedness), enable him to lash like a dolphin’s fins for maximum
thrust inside the pool.”
Lesser lactic acid production in his body, which helps Phelps to be ready for the
next set in say, 2 minutes. His body can replenish him faster than any other
professional swimmer. The lactic acid build up is extremely low and he is the
only known swimmer to have had a 5.6 oxygen starvation level after a race!!!!
11. KEY SUCCESS FACTOR OF MICHAEL PHELPS…!!!
The low fat content improves the power-to-weight
ratio which enables him to convert his efforts into sheer speed.
The average shoe size for a person the size of Phelps is 12;
he wears a size 14 which gives him a 10% advantage over the
competition.
Phelps is double-jointed in the chest area; this enables him
to extend his arms higher above his head and pull down at an
angle that increases his efficiency through the water by as much
as 20%
He has the prototypical swimmer body, he has an extremely long
torso; that of a 6 foot 8 person. Whereas his legs are shorter,
only that of a 6 foot person. This helps him keep his head above
water in his signature event, the 100M butterfly

15. STRENGTH:
1) Ssomeone realizing and living up to his
potential...!!!
2). Mr. Phelps’s mother, Deborah Phelps, who
also says that children with A.D.H.D. have great
potential if parents are willing to help them
with structure and scheduling, behaviour
modification and accentuating their positive
traits.
3).“His physical assets are custom made for
swimming; he has paddle-like hands, no body
fat, possesses nuclear calves and is uniquely
flexible. Even his heart is something of an
enigma and the pressure that his body can take
due to the better cardio functioning is beyond
even the fittest of athletes.
4). The recovery time of the American Shark
after a race is also mind boggling.
5). Phelps is double-jointed in the chest area.
WEAKNESS:
1). ADHD(attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder) CANNOT FOCUS ON A
PARTICULAR SUBJECT. He has various
physical disorder.
2). "He looks natural with a bong in his
hands as he does swimming in the pool. He
is also the gold medal winner of bong hits.
16. 4). And most imp his spirit, his
determination as aptly said by himself-”I
wouldn't say anything is impossible. I
think that everything is possible as long as
you put your mind to it and put the work
and time into it.”
OPPORTUNITY:
1).LONDON Olympics 2012.
2). To make some more memorable and
unbreakable records.
3).Anti-Doping Agency's given that they
introduced the four-year ban on sport's
drug users.(just to save sportsman like
Phelps)
4). Phelps, who earned £4million last year
in endorsements, has resumed training for
the 2012 games.
THREAT:
1) His wild behaviour is in stark contrast
to the grim regime which took him to
the top of his sport.
2) He is very low tempered, loose of his
controls very quickly as he does in
Colombia.
3) United States Anti-Doping Agency in
which US Olympians can volunteer to
be tested in excess of the World AntiDoping Agency guidelines. He was
tested nine times in Beijing. He
cleared them all to leave the big
mouths wondering.
