3. Green House Effect
• The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the Earth's surface.
When the Sun's energy reaches the Earth's atmosphere, some of it is
reflected back to space and the rest
is absorbed and re-radiated by
greenhouse gases.
UV rays from the sun are of high energy
And of shorter wavelength.IR radiations
Are of lower energy and longer
Wavelength.

5. Global Impacts of Green House
• Greenhouse gases have far-ranging environmental and health
effects. World Health Organization (WHO) states that global
warming will cause infectious diseases such as malaria, cholera or
dengue to spread to many more areas of the planet.
• It also disturbs the aquatic life.

6. It can cause rise in sea level and chances of flood occurs.

7. • They cause climate change by trapping heat, and they also
contribute to respiratory disease from smog and air pollution.
• This kind of visible air pollution is composed of nitrogen oxides,
sulphur oxides, ozone, smoke and other particulates.

8. • Food supply disruptions, and increased wildfires are other effects of climate
change caused by greenhouse gases.

9. •It can cause extreme weather change.

10. •It also disturbs water cycle. More water will get evaporated due to the
retention of heat. Hence it can cause drought.

11. • The stratospheric ozone layer protects life on Earth by absorbing
harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. The spatial and
temporal distribution of stratospheric ozone is determined by
chemical and dynamical processes.
