tools
There are a variety of tools you can use to plan and operate
innovative learning spaces. Here are two compilations and we’ll
review a few in detail.
•  The Learning Space Toolkit
•  The Learning Space Rating System
•  Personas
•  “Elevator Pitch” madlib
•  Journey Map

elevator pitch
The elevator pitch determines who the space is for, what they
are trying to achieve, what you can provide them, what will be
unique about it, and how they will benefit.

journey map
The journey map plots user experiences, identifying the
“touchpoints” or moments where users interact with
information, spaces, furniture, tech, staff and each other.
