FLUID INTELLIGENCE
Answer: Piece 7 is the correct answer. Why?
The piece has to contain a triangle, because all the complete rows and
columns contain one rectangle, square and triangle. So that eliminates
choices 3, 4 and 5.
The piece has to contain a flat yellow oval, because the row it is in contains
other pieces with flat yellow ovals. So that eliminates pieces 4, 6 and 8,
leaving 1, 2 and 7.
The piece also has to have a flat yellow oval at the bottom, because the
row already contains pieces with flat yellow ovals at the top and middle. That
eliminates choice 1.
The triangle also has to be tall and wide, because the other shapes in the
row are tall and wide. That eliminates choice 2, leaving choice 7 as the
correct answer.
