Feb 1981 [Exhibit 1] through an Act of
Parliament. Its main purpose of establishment
was to meet the growing demand of a personal
mode of transport, caused by the lack of an
efficient public transport system.

compact, modern and fuel efficient car. Maruti
released its first Maruti 800 car on 14
December 1983 to fulfil the dreams of Indian
customers and became the market leader.
Since 1983 till date Maruti Suzuki gradually
