2. INFORMATION TO REMEMBER
Please check “my Job page” to ensure your application has been submitted and is not in draft
mode
Job postings close at 11:59 pm (MST)
Applicants may be tested

Did you know you can check your application status in “my job
page” after the closing date? Check what stage you are at in the
application process!

3. STAGE 1: NEW APPLICATION
My Job page Status : Thank you, resume received.
You will receive an e-mail right after you submit your application confirming we
have received it.
This email contains useful job application resources (i.e. interview tips).

4. STAGE 2: RESUME REVIEW
There are two statuses you may see on your profile:
Did you know we receive on average 200 resumes per job posting?
Even if your application was not successful this time, this doesn’t mean you aren't
qualified. So don’t stop applying!
Resume Evaluation –Your resume is being reviewed by a recruiter for further
evaluation of your qualifications.
Hiring Manager Review – Your resume has been passed on to the hiring manager
for further review.
What happens if my status doesn’t change to Hiring Manager Review within one
week of the posting close date? It means that your application is not successful at
this time.

5. STAGE 3: INTERVIEW
My Job page Status : Interview
Did you know that you could ask the Hiring Manager for
interview feedback if you were not successful?
You’ve been selected for an interview! Congratulations in reaching this step!
Our interviews are performance based. Visit our career site for a job interview
webinar which will better prepare you for the job interview.
After the interview you will be informed of the Hiring Manager’s decision.

6. STAGE 4: REFERENCE CHECKS
My Job page Status : Reference Checks
Remember: Even if you don’t reach this step you should always keep in touch with at least 3 Supervisors that will be
happy to provide you with a reference.
The recruiter will be calling your references for verification of
employment and qualifications.
A current or most recent employer will always be required for a reference.

7. STAGE 5: VERBAL OFFER
My Job page Status : Offer Extended
You’ve been selected as the top candidate for the job.
A verbal offer will be extended followed by a formal written offer.

8. STAGE 6: HIRED
My Job page Status: Welcome to the City of Edmonton
