2. WHAT IS THE VOLUNTEERING ?
Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity and is intended to
promote goodness or improve human quality of life. In return, this activity can
produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. There is no financial gain involved
for the individual. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development,
socialization, and fun. Volunteering may have positive benefits for the
volunteer as well as for the person or community served.

3. Volunteer is donating their time, labor and talent to causes of social and
community interest and thus improve the community's quality of life.
Being a volunteer is:
Deny individualism
Deny exclusion
Stop being competitive and contribute to the collective success
Put to the side and not the front or behind
Learning throughout life
Who helps easily accept to be helped, who offers to help is aware that a
united hand the other has a multiplier effect.
WHAT IS TO BE VOLUNTEER ?

5. DISADVANTAGE OF VOLUNTEERING

employers prefer to have unpaid workers rather than having them pay).

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE VOLUNTARY ?

8. The Animalife is a non-profit association of Awareness and Social and
Environmental Support, which was established in October 2011. nationwide, is
headquartered in Lisbon and has the support of more than five dozen
volunteers who dedicate part of their time to this cause. The Animalife has as
main objectives the promotion of citizenship, the protection of animal
environment, public health and the protection of disadvantaged people.
