Market to Market Events 2 - ImpactL21 2015: Conversations With Men
http://www.impactleadership21.com/conversations-with-men-on-
wall-street--finance.html
“Conversations With Men™: The Language Of Leadership, Equality And
Partnership” Learn The Language. Shape It. Advance Women. Transform Societies
IMPACT Leadership 21′s revolutionary approach to transforming women’s leadership in
this hyper-connected world understands that men are part of the solution. Men can be
powerful ambassadors for change. Men are untapped, yet a critical resource in advanc-
ing women’s global leadership and achieving equality. How do we harness this un-
tapped resource? We engage them.” -
!
In April 23, 2013, IMPACT Leadership 21 started a catalytic conversation called “Con-
versations with Men: The Language of Leadership, Equality and Partnership”. Hosted
by The New York Times and Presented by Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi-UFJ, what has
started as an Executive Forum featuring an all-male panel with the goal of having an
open, honest, candid dialogue between women and men on issues relevant to women’s
leadership, understanding gender perceptions and myths, differences – is now fast be-
3. !
coming the catalyst that is shaping the NEW LANGUAGE of transformational leader-
ship for women. A language founded on partnership. On collaboration. Between
women – and men. The language that will directly increase women’s opportunities for
an accelerated place of equal representation in our society.
!
“Conversations with Men” has four major goals:
• Serve as a platform for candid conversations about collaboration between
women and men in all spheres of leadership.
• Engage men as crucial and equal partners in advancing women’s leader-
ship at the highest level of influence.
• Emphasize the importance of a women's network that is inclusive of men
in leadership roles.
• Create opportunities with men in leadership roles for an accelerated place
of equal representation of women in our society.
!
The overarching goal is to engage men in leadership positions in accelerating women’s
leadership at the top. After all, the so-called “women’s issues” must no longer be labeled
as such – because these issues are also men’s issues, and the society’s issues. Bottom
line, both women and men, businesses, corporations, organizations and governments
benefit from having a gender-balanced decision-making table.
!
Impact Leadership 21 hosted an invitation-only follow-up Executive Briefing at the New
York Times on June 20, 2013 that featured a review and discussion of the many valuable
takeaways, vital learning, and critical call to action from the previous speakers. The
highlight of this Executive Briefing was a presentation and open discussion of IMPACT
Leadership 21′s first white paper on “Conversations With Men: The Language of Lead-
ership, Equality and Partnership”. Over 70 leaders, decision-makers, change agents,
thought leaders, champions and collaborators attended the event, each committing not
only to keep the “Conversations” going, but move this new language of transformational
leadership for women forward.

A. Technology, Women and People With Disabilities
The world of IT has swung wide the doors for innovation, new economies, and cultural
inclusion that help to ensure a sustainable future for businesses and communities
around the world. In fact, the success is measurable. However, women and people with
disabilities remain part of the untapped potential for even greater growth. In fact, peo-
ple with disabilities and women—in some cultures--have been forced to live at the mar-
gins of society and business enterprise. Today, IT has helped to eliminate barriers to be-
come a virtual gateway for this previously hard to identify and hard to serve community
of untapped potential of valuable talent skills and perspectives.
Description:
!
The Global Diversity Leadership Exchange, a network of global thought leaders, meets
at the intersection of sustainability and diversity and inclusion. It is designed to bring
forward breakthrough ideas, solutions and collaboration for business growth, common
good, and global prosperity. We gather 250 of the most dynamic executives from Blue-
Chip, multi-national companies. They listen, learn and share experiences in leveraging
diversity and inclusion to support business objectives in emerging markets.
The first global diversity event of its kind, in 2012, NYSE member companies led a glob-
al awareness initiative, opening the dialogue from the floor of the world's largest stock
exchange – the center of the world's most dynamic companies. That dialogue continues
with C-Suite level executives who network with their peers to share best practices, re-
sources and develop strategic alliances that help meet their global needs. The event is
broadcast across diverse media outlets and includes global social media coverage.
Each year, companies have an opportunity to engage their employees in offices around
the world in one single event – and invite them to participate in a dialogue that unites
the workforce around an issue that is pervasive throughout every culture. Participants
define Next Steps for leveraging this conversation, mutual interests and new relation-
ships to help grow and strengthen global market share for companies.
Event Structure: Beyond the main keynote speakers, the exchange featured many global
market case studies, talking circles and more. Attendees addressed the myths, realities
and leading indicators for driving global success through diversity and inclusion.
Also, participating companies were empowered to utilize social media to engage their
employees, worldwide, in this dynamic conversation.

Based on the studies of Harvard Business School professor Clayton M. Christensen and helmed
by Tribeca’s Craig Hatkoff, The Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards (TDIA) celebrates those
whose ideas have broken the mold to create significant impact. Christensen’s original Disruptive
Innovation Theory explained how simpler, cheaper technologies, products, and services could
decimate industry leaders. TDIA showcases applications of disruptive innovation which has
spread far beyond the original technological and industrial realms into the fields of healthcare,
education, international development, politics and advocacy, media, the arts and entertainment.

!In 1997, Harvard Business School’s Professor Clayton M. Christensen published his ground-
breaking book The Innovator’s Dilemma where he introduced his theory of Disruptive Innova-
tion. Now entering its’ sixth year, the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards, helmed by Tribeca
co-founder Craig Hatkoff, in collaboration with Professor Christensen, celebrate disruptive in-
novation across the full spectrum of traditional and non-traditional domains ranging from tech-
nology, biomed, politics, education, healthcare, spirituality, religion, economics, sports, fashion
and philanthropy. The awards focus on breakthroughs occurring at the intersection of technolo-
gy and culture where frequent clashes and resistance to change impede social progress and solu-
tions for some of the world’s most vexing problems. TDIA serves as a living laboratory for ad-
vances in disruptive innovation theory and brings together the world’s most fascinating disrup-
tors whose stories will inspire anyone with an interest in the process of innovation. - See more
