Dr. Warren Licht has been a significant contributor to Bridges to Community, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping developing countries with the work of volunteers. In addition to being a significant contributor, Dr. Warren Licht was the medical director and one of the organization’s founding members. Bridges to Community’s mission is to construct a more just and a more sustainable world economy through community development and service learning. The latest in Bridges to Community's litany of accomplishments is a hospital project the organization implemented in Siuna, Nicaragua. Potable water is an extremely limited resource in Nicaragua, so Bridges to Community worked successfully to obtain clean water to the only hospital in Siuna. The project, which began in 2010, will be complete in June 2013, and it was conducted with the help of partner organizations, including the Houston Family Foundation, the Sarita Kenedy East Foundation, and the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health.
