Sameh obtained his level 1 Octalysis Certificate with his submission “Plastic Water Bottles”. Sameh designed his own plastic water bottle with an accompanying app in an effort to reduce plastic waste.

2. Introduction :
There is a huge market for water bottles, in the
U.S. for example, According to an estimate,
around 167 water bottles are used per person
annually in the U.S. The country’s annual
spending on bottled water is around 11.8
billion. Nearly 30 billion water bottles are sold
annually in the country. This shows that there
are immense new business opportunities
existing in this industry and market.
The reason behind choosing this product is my
desire to gamify & improve product which I see
as a challenge & also my wish to benefit the
environment more and create better place for
next generations, in fact, my all previous work
in teaching and product design are all like that.
Because earth is our home and what we do now
will reflect on our future soon.
3. Most of water companies and brands care about
what inside the bottle as it is the main reason why
people are buying their water. But, they could never
build their campaigns on the bottle itself ( unless
they are marketing new design or smart use ).
Everybody now know that all these bottles will
remain on our plant for at least 400 years because it
doesn’t decompose!
About that problem I was thinking of how can these
bottles can be modified to a real gamified product
and add some changes and ideas to alter that realty
to reach many people as it can and also benefit
these companies and above all benefits the
environment.

Giving such product an Epic meaning and calling (CD1) of
changing the feeling towards the product from being part of the
problem into being part of the solutions.

6. Recycling with this bottle will go to
different meaning , the cap ( which I need
the user to keep it) has unique QR code,
when scanned by (CODY) App. It will
open page with either memo, pixels
board or attaching button. You could
never know what you’ll get (CD7).
The bottle itself can be used as building
block thanks to its design which can be
used to build Pavilions, monuments or
even houses for the neglected
communities and charity (CD1).
With the given possibilities for the
content of the QR code and the bottle
LEGO buildings the bottle will unleash
the creativity of the users (CD3).
