Common names
In English, Nigella sativa is variously called fennel flower, nutmeg flower,
Love-in-mist (as Nigella flower resembles with that of Love-in-mist), black
caraway, Roman coriander, black cumin. Other names used, sometimes

was first discovered in
Tutankhamen's tomb of
Egypt, implying that it was
