We believe that GP can be a powerful platform for many purposes: to learn how to think critically, to evaluate arguments, to appreciate differing perspectives, to know more about the world around us, and to engage both our minds and hearts.

Throughout my years of teaching General Paper
(GP), I have come to appreciate the deep
importance of this subject in formulating one’s
thinking and values.

2. One of the quotes that have continuously
guided me in my teaching is by the poet
W.B. Yeats who said that, “Education is
not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a
fire.”

6. This is a worthy cause as it aims to help children of
cancer-stricken beneficiaries in their educational
needs. As Singapore Cancer Society celebrated its
50th anniversary, I was also privileged to be included
in the VIP team invited to meet with our Prime
Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
