4. They left England on a ship called the Mayflower Mayflower Mayflower

5. The Pilgrims inside the Mayflower .

6. They went to America to start a new life in 1620. England America

7. The Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth, America in 1620.

8. Life was very difficult. The Pilgrims’ crops wouldn’t grow.

9. They were soon dying of hunger. I’m hungry!

10. A native Indian decided to help the Pilgrims. His name was Squanto and he belonged to the Wampanoag tribe.

11. Squanto and his people gave the Pilgrims food and taught them how to hunt, fish and grow corn. HUNT FISH GROW CORN

12. The next harvest was a good one. The Pilgrims decided to celebrate with a feast and invited the native indians who had helped them. This was their way of saying thank you .

13. Today, Americans still celebrate this day with their families. It’s called Thanksgiving . We should all say thank you for what we have.

14. For Thanksgiving, Americans eat… TURKEY
