Current Water Desalination Systems
When looking at Seawater Desalination Techniques, they can be easily divided
into two techniques, mainly distillation based and membrane based.
Distillation based techniques include Reverse Osmosis (RO), Micro Filtration
(MF), Nano Filtration (NF), Ultra Filtration (UF). In one separation process
there may be more than one membrane technique used together.
For example, MF and UF are used as pretreatment for seawater before it is
treated with RO. Cost of seawater treatment membranes is also considered
high. Be easily divided into two techniques, mainly distillation based and
membrane based.

Current Solar Systems
Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either
directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated
solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses
or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight
into a small beam. Photovoltaics convert light into an electric
current using the photovoltaic effect.

Another Method to Steam Water under the Floating Dome
Nanoparticles Make Steam without Bringing Water to a Boil
Steam is a key ingredient in a wide range of industrial and commercial processes—including
electricity generation, water purification, alcohol distillation, and medical equipment
sterilization.
Generating that steam, however, typically requires vast amounts of energy to heat and
eventually boil water or another fluid. Now researchers at Rice University have found a
shortcut. Using light-absorbing nanoparticles suspended in water, the group was able to turn
the water molecules surrounding the nanoparticles into steam while scarcely raising the
temperature of the remaining water. The trick could dramatically reduce the cost of many
steam-reliant processes.

How Much Space is required to install 10 MW solar panels?
Under clear skies and good sunshine each m2 is receiving about 1000 watts of solar energy.
At typical 15% panel efficiency, a 1 m2 area will generate 150 watts of power.
For 1 kW power output about 7 m2 area will be required.
After leaving some free space, about 10 -12 m2 clear roof area will be required.
1000 kw = 7000 m2
10 MW = 70,000 m2
