Monthly Summary: May 2021 — SuperBusinessManager.com

  1. 1.            BUSINESS MANAGEMENT  BUSINESS RESOURCES  BUSINESS JOURNALISM  BUSINESS EDUCATION  PERSONAL FINANCE  Hi! I am Jerry. I make business education accessible to everyone in the world by providing high-quality business resources. » Monthly Summary: May 2021 BY JERRY GRZEGORZEK ON MAY 31, 2021 | MONTHLY SUMMARIES AND PERSONAL FINANCE   In order to reflect on my past life events and aid future planning for my family, I publish monthly summaries on the last day of each month. Writing a monthly summary is a great way to put my thoughts together in one place keeping myself accountable too. I hope you will find my monthly summaries both reflective and inspiring. The Super Business Manager website Articles. I published 25 articles in May which is 50% less than last month. It is because I was examining for The International Baccalaureate (IB), had busy time at work with lecturing some new students and spent some free time on Friday afternoons running outdoors. I still keep on publishing in the Business Organization section to continue building this introductory content. Most of the articles published this month were about Stakeholders. The total number of articles published so far at this website has reached 200. Wow! Visitors. In May, the number of visitors was 409 in total with 5,227 pageviews. In total since launching the site on February 9, 2021, the number of visitors has been 1,590 with 37,847 pageviews.  You spent 3 minutes and 22 seconds on average reading my content. YouTube Channel. The total number of videos published so far is 196. I managed to record a video for each article that has been published on the website so far, so you can either read the content or listen to it. The purpose of recording those videos is mainly to edit the article (grammar, spelling, sentence structures, etc.) as I read it out loud. I hope you enjoy! The number of visits doubled from 367 in April to 742 in May. Thanks everybody for watching! Go to YouTube » Business objectives. I wrote a rough plan for the next 10 years for the development of Super Business Manager in the last month’s monthly summary. In very short-term, the goal is to write the series of articles about how to successfully manage a business organization to be published in the Business Management section. This is the core content of my website in the Super Business Manager 'Business knowledge is money, wealth and power' October 2, 2021   |   Website Value: USD$134,450 Articles: 285  ·  Readers: 10,595  ·  Pageviews: 79,622  HOME   ABOUT   AUTHOR   RESOURCES   SHOP   SERVICES   ADVERTISE   SPONSOR   ARCHIVES   CONTACT
  2. 2. initial stage of development. All of the future activities will be based around this content about– Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Production / Operations, plus Business Organization, Strategy and Economics. When promoting this website, I wish to inform what it is all about, how my readers can benefit, who the author is, what content is being published, where to find my social media accounts, what the pages include, etc. Specific targets for this initial stage include: a. Survival – Set up things and make technical stuff work. Publish first stores. Finish writing pages. Finalize website design. Find first few hundred readers. Publish articles every day. b. Increasing brand awareness – Promote on social media & leave comments on other websites on the Internet. c. Increasing readership – Reach from 1,000 page views to 10,000 page views per month. Start earning from USD$1 to USD$10 per month from Google AdSense. Revenue streams for the website. This website has already started generating its first revenue from Google Ads which you see throughout the website. I tried to place the ads throughout the site in places where they do not interfere with reading the articles smoothly to give you maximum comfort. It has been great to see my hard work paying off. The amount of earnings is very small though – approximately USD$6 per month on average in the last four months. I do not have millions of visitors yet, but hopefully my audience will grow, so will the earnings. So far so good as I forecasted advertising earnings this year are set to be between USD$1 to USD$10 per month. I am hoping that this website will become one of my passive income streams in a few years from now. Social media accounts are growing. I use social media accounts to promote new articles. My professional LinkedIn network reached almost 15,000 connections. I have over 500 Twitter followers and around 700 Facebook connections. The number of followers at Mix.com and Instagram almost doubled in the last 30 days! Over 600 people follow me on Mix.com and almost 1,400 people follow me on Instagram. I also managed to reach almost 300 subscribers on Pinterest and 34 followers on Medium.com. Connect / follow / subscribe / join to stay up to date and do not miss any valuable business content that I publish at SuperBusinessManager.com. Personal Finance Higher income, lower spending this month. We managed to lower our family expenses by roughly RMB1,000 in May comparing with the first four months of 2021 on average. Also, both me and my wife managed to boost our monthly income starting from April 2021. That is great because as we managed to increase our income and lower our spending, our savings will increase. The same applies to businesses – if you can increase sales revenue without increasing costs, you are maximizing profit (earnings) for the owners.  Rebudgeting required. However, our average monthly costs are still higher than what I have forecasted for this year. It is because our son is growing up (babies are expensive!!!) and my wife’s sister came over to live with us for a while. So, I think I will have to adjust our family budget for the rest of this year, and then rebudget it for the next three years. As you already know from April’s Monthly Summary, I have done our family budgeting until the end of 2024. Saving rate. I expect our saving rate to be around 87% in 2021. You can check our historical saving rates and predicted saving rates in Monthly Summary: April 2021. Building family income streams. 
  3. 3. 1. Full-time jobs. Both me and my wife have full-time jobs that provide our family with steady monthly income and other benefits such as public and private health insurance, etc. My wife does sales and business development in China for technology software while I teach business management at the international school. Because our contracts our confidential, I cannot publish exactly how much we earn. If you happen to have stable full-time job, I recommend that you continue working as long as possible, so you can receive steady cash flow every month, feel stable and maintain peace of mind for your family. 2. Part-time jobs. As already mentioned, I did some examining for The International Baccalaureate (IB) this month and last month. Unfortunately, I cannot share any more details here. Having some part-time gigs from time to time in addition to your full-time job is great, especially when they are predictable – happen every year at the same time – so you can get some extra cash from time to time. 3. Rental apartments. Renting your property is an awesome way to generate stable passive income. Having stable tenants who pay on time is crucial. You can expect annual returns to be between 3% and 8% annually on average, realistically around 5% in annual returns after all the fees. Remember, the smaller the apartment, the higher the returns. But the larger the apartment, the more stable the tenants. 4. Bank Deposits. Presently, interest rates in China are quite high comparing with the rest of the world. Some countries even have negative interest rates! The current three-year saving rate is roughly as high as 4% annually. I like investments that give me secure and predictable returns instead of the highest unknown returns. In general, you can expect annual returns between 2% and 5% on average from investing in CDs. Once all of my bank deposits are set, they will run on autopilot renewing automatically without any work from me. I do not even need to remember their maturity dates. 5. Website. I launched this website mainly with two reasons in mind. First, to make it as a hub where I can put all of my life experiences together. And second, to make it as an economic engine to realize strategic goals of my family in the long-term perspective – build another passive income source for my family budget and a part-time job that I could do when I get older, and then pass it down to my children to play around with. Well, I treat it as a long-term project, so after 10 years of building Super Business Manager, I expect this website to bring between USD$1,000-USD$3,000 in passive income without much new work. We will see. 6. Stock Market (Dividend shares & Funds). I have not started investing on the stock exchange yet. First, if I finally decide to invest some money on the stock exchange, I will be buying shares of well-established large cap multinational American companies (e.g. Johnson & Johnson, The Coca Cola Company, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s Corp., etc.) that pay regular dividends. Annually, these companies usually return between 2% and 6% dividend yield on average. I will not be investing any of my money in risky start-ups or unethical businesses. Second, another option I consider is investing in mutual funds in China with a long history (>15 years) of growth. Some of those actively managed funds grow as much as 100% annually, but charge around 1.5% in annual management fees, and around 1% to buy in. Also, pension funds are interesting from my perspective as they usually grow at a very stable pace at around 10% annually, are low-risk and charge around 0.6%-0.8% in annual management fees – that is much lower than the funds with the highest returns. 7. Currency trading. I will only spend the Chinese RMB to purchase some foreign currency (USD, EURO, British Pound, etc.) when RMB appreciates over 10% against any of the foreign currencies. Otherwise, I do not see much point in speculating by trading currency as I am more of a value investor rather than day trader. And, I am only interested in investing, not speculation. Financial Independence Ratio (FI Ratio). I am expecting to reach the status of financial independence for my family starting from next year as our FI Ratio is forecasted to be over 100% starting from 2022. I have written down the exact numbers in the last month’s summary. I will be 35-years-old when it happens. Despite being financially independent, we will 
  4. 4. most likely continue working in the next few years because we want to, not because we have to. I also want our savings to grow even bigger brining more peace of mind. Family My son YangYang is 18-months-old already which is fantastic considering his special health condition. We had a small ‘birthday’ celebration for him again. Me and my wife try to stay as much positive as possible and appreciate every day that we can have with him. He is a beautiful person – great little guy who smiles every day. Soon, I am also going to have very exciting news regarding our family, so stay tuned! Travel No traveling again this month, except walking to work and back home. We are planning to go to Zhanjiang during summer holidays to spend some time at home, but several new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Guangdong Province lately. So, we have not decided yet whether to travel to Southern Guangdong or stay where we are in summer. It is a tough decision to make considering we have the very special small baby boy. Investments The same here as in January, February, March and April. I continue making regular investments in three-year bank deposits currently at 3,9875% annually at one of the Chinese banks. So far, there was no change in the saving rate, so it is good news for us. I will just continue my strategy in 2021 and throughout 2022 as I am not finished yet with investing in fixed-rate bank deposits. I still look forward to an increase in interest rates in China in H2 of 2021 (there has been mixed info in the news about this). With bank deposits, I am building one of the income streams for my family that can be completely passive. CDs are very safe and can provide us with predictable cash inflows at the exact date in the future. I like investing in asset classes that generate stable returns, do not risk losing the initial capital, are literally risk-free and do not require any mental or physical effort from me. Investing risk-free and stress-free is awesome! Health I continue walking to work every day from Monday to Friday. I also managed to return to my regular fitness schedule after a long break. I go running for two hours every Friday afternoon after work. I also work out every Sunday lifting weights at home. So, solid eight hours of exercise every week. My plan is to get in shape again in the next 3-6 months. Losing weight and having great body takes time, regular exercise and mindful diet. So, take it easy! Plans for next month First, keep on writing and publishing new articles in the Business Organization section to finish it before August this year. I still have two more subsections to finish which is Internal & External Environment and Business Growth. 
  5. 5. Second, continue recording videos for my YouTube channel based on articles already published on the website. Go to YouTube » Third, continue promoting each new article across all social media accounts. Here is the list of my social media accounts.
