A Culturally Responsive Faculty Development
Those who develop culturally responsive faculty development programs should examine the foundational principles upon which they are built; they
will demonstrate the level of commitment to developing a cadre of culturally responsive educators. Any program, curriculum or agenda that does not
have at its core the intention of creating an equitable society for everyone is a tool to maintain hegemonic practices (Gorski, 2008). While there is no
set model or format for culturally responsive faculty development, there are certain traits that should be evident from such a program. The process of
embedding culturally relevant teaching skills in faculty development should be an ongoing process (Haviland and Rodriguez–Kiino, 2009). The
excitement about learning new material and the importance of cultural awareness can lose its momentum if it is not reinforced throughout the school
year (Boyle et al., 2005). One dose of training is not a cure–all for instilling a new method of teaching. Cultural consciousness must flow from faculty
development. Culturally responsive faculty development should assist educators in developing cultural consciousness; in other words, understanding
one's own culture and how it affects his or her interaction with others (McCalman, 2007). Faculty should learn that class and race differences are not
solely the problem between them and students; professors must be able to acknowledge power imbalances are pervasive in society, institutions and
policies,

Philosophy of Education
According to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (2008, pp. 1) "all human societies, past and present, have had a vested interest in education; and
some wits have claimed that teaching is the second oldest profession." No one comes into the world with knowledge, all knowledge is learned.
Education can be learned from experience to being taught. This explains why educators are considered a big contribution to many successful people in
today's society. Without education, the world would not have access to being literate. Reading and writing is key to being successful today, without the
educators there would be no anything today. There would be no schooling and most of all what people cannot live without today is the Internet and
believe it or not books. Most people learn from reading and without the thought of "learning" none of that would be possible. In order to read there has
to be some type of educator or education, rather it's teaching oneself or being taught the thought of "education" still is key. After all, the true definition
of education is knowledge through learning and instruction.
My Educational Philosophy
The student is the main focus when it comes to education. It is important to make the student feel as if their voice is being heard. If it were not for
students how could education even be possible? It is important as an educator to understand the student and his or

The Importance Of Education In Education
Arguably teaching is one of the most powerful careers offered to the public today. The impact educators have on their students is insurmountable,
possibly lasting the child's entire lifetime. This is why educators should be dedicated to being a positive impact on the child's life, and creating a
safe classroom environment. Educators can successfully do this if they are aware of the developmental, behavioral and social needs of their students,
fully comprehend the impacts of trauma and poverty as well as use differentiation strategies to support the needs of these students. The developmental
needs of students should guide the classrooms lesson plans, as well as the materials used should be unique the the age group. Every year a child
grows and develops at a drastic rate, and children need drastically different supports depending on their age. For example, children ages 2–7 would be
considered to be in Piaget's Preoperational Stage. During the Preoperational stage children are able to, "...think about things and can use symbols to
mentally represent objects (Massey, 2008). Their language and concepts develop at an incredible rate. Yet much of their thinking remains surprisingly
primitive" (Slavin, 2015 p. 33). When children's cognition is "primitive" they show characteristics of egocentrism, among other things. The egocentric
child, "...believe(s) that everyone sees the world exactly as they do" (Slavin, 2015 p.33). However, compared to children ages 7–11 who are

Individual Values Of Public Education : My Philosophy Of...
Philosophy of Education
Everyone in this country is extremely unique and each person has individual goals and passions in their lives. The one thing each person has in
common is growing up completing some level of education through public schooling, charter or private schooling, or home schooling. So, with
something mandatory like education, educators in any schooling system can expect to encounter all types of students. If providing an education for
students is supposed to prepare them for careers and post–secondary education while providing them with opportunities for experience, then educators
should be committed to helping each student succeed in their unique way during their education. This means educators should be focused on meeting
the individual needs of each student in order to help all students discover and learn while providing encouragement to find their passions. It is
important that this is implemented by educators and administration in all subject areas of education.
There is an excerpt from an article on the mission of the high school that summarized the mission being to prepare every student for whatever future
they choose in their progression into adulthood. This is generally the mission of every school even early on, but this article chooses to focus on the
high school level. High schools should prepare students for having a job or career, for college, and learning a lifelong skill set. (Barton and Coley,
2011) This mission is general and there is still

Nursing Reflection Paper
Describe the name, the purpose, overall objectives, the attendees and goals of the meeting
The primary purpose of the meeting was for the educator to meet with the unit manager of the emergency unit of the hospital to discuss how the new
registered nurses are coming along in their clinical practices and getting feedback from the staff nurses on the further orientees performances and work
ethics. The meeting was about 10–15 minute's long and the educator discusses with the new staff nurses when they will officially be off orientation
and start to work independently. The educator praises the new nurses for doing a good job and inspire them to keep up the excellent work which aligns
well with the theory of positive reinforcement which makes the behavior more likely to occur. Therefore, the educator provided the new nurses with
empowerment by instilling confidence in the nurses.
Describe the purpose of the nurse educators' attendance and the educator's interaction/contributions at this meeting
The nurse educator after receiving positive feedback from the nurse manager of the new nurse's clinical skills applauded the team for facilitating
collaboration and taken the effort to help the new novice in their pathway to nursing. Also, the educator pointed out the mission and vision statement as
a teaching hospital to embrace learning and teaching; therefore, the staff initiation in training the new nurses aligns with the mission and vision
statement of the hospital.

Should Teachers Have Guns In Schools Essay
Should Educators Carry Guns or Not?
According to a list of school shootings on the CNN web–site, there were twenty school shootings that happened in the United States between January
2018 and April 2018. Twenty shootings, which killed and injured many people, on campuses are not a small number. Shockingly, a shooting at Marjory
Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida killed seventeen innocent people on February 14th, 2018, and it is a serious alert to students'
safety on campus. Many people believe that educators should be armed, so the students would feel safe while being in schools. Some people also
urge the American government to enact a law, which allows educators to possess weapons in schools. On the other hand, there has been a lot of
disagreements about ideas of armed educators because the teachers might not have a stable mentality to make a right decision and possibly end up
shooting wrong targets in hostile situations. A critical discussion on the pros and cons of educators carrying guns will help people understand why
shooting on campus should be addressed as well as become more aware of this concerning issue.

PART A ACTIVITY 1 The Education Law Environment The basis of education law is when an educator or any other authority figure has the
authority to lay down rules and regulations. Educators are expected to be well informed about the law and applicable Education Acts and
Regulations. The law enforces the rules of behaviour that are usually considered acceptable by society on members e.g. churches, schools, etc.
Education law is a collection of legal rules from a variety of legal disciplines which have to be applied in education. It also indicates what is possible
and what is not possible within the education environment and it makes certain actions possible or impossible. Education law is made up of those

Everyone has the right to administrative action that is lawful, reasonable, etc. Summary The Constitution radically changed the nature of South African
politics and government. It represents a definite break with the past, a dispensation of constitutional supremacy replaces parliamentary sovereignty.
These changes have an enormous influence on education. PART B ACTIVITY 1 Educators as professional people It is important that the image
educators project both in and outside the school environment should be professionally responsible and worthy. The professionalization of any
occupation is determined by the people who practise that occupation. That is why educators are placed as practitioners in the foreground. A person
practising this occupation should be specialised trained, have an effective performance etc. and maintain a professional code of conduct. An educator's
professional image is made up of their own view of their profession. Their image must be one of a mature independent person with self–confidence and
also takes responsibility for helping kids to become responsible adults. The teaching profession must develop its own professional pride, conscience and
consciousness. Educators working conditions demands challenges as well as their contribution as community leaders. Educators must view every

The Classroom That I Completed My Field Experience Essay
The classroom that I completed my field experience in was a self–contained ninth through twelfth grade. The class consists of four male students, a
teacher, and two paraprofessionals. The students in the classroom have severe behaviors that do not allow them to be successful in a regular
classroom. I completed the observation over a period of four days. The first day that I went to observe was in the morning from 8:30 to 9:30. When I
arrived, the students were leaving the cafeteria from eating breakfast. Once they got to the classroom, they unpacked their backpacks, putting their
agendas and folders into a basket on that is on the teacher's desk. The students then sat down at their desk and began working on the morning journal.
The journal topic for the day was "What is your favorite subject? Why?" One of the students wrote his journal within ten minutes, while it took the
other students about thirty minutes for them to complete the journal. One of the students in the class kept getting out of his seat to come and talk to
the teacher and paraprofessional. He wanted them to take a picture of him. They would tell him no and that he needed to return to his seat. He sat there
for the whole thirty minutes and only wrote a few words down on his paper. Asking to have his picture taken is something that he asked them about ten
or more times a day. At 9:00, the paraprofessional transitioned the students into a Language Arts lesson. The class uses Unique Learning for

Debriefing Simulation As A Reflective Tool
Debriefing in the simulation as a reflective tool
Simulation is one kind of reflective tool that widely use in nursing education. National League for Nursing (NLN) described that simulation was a
teaching technique that encouraged students to use and apply their theoretical knowledge in clinical scenarios (2015). NLN (2015) also mentioned that
"simulation engages learners with diverse perspectives to reflect and reframe the understanding of practice, bringing thinking and doing together" (p.
4). Jones (2009) showed the similar view that reflective simulation was a critical learning process via practiced–based scenario activity that enhanced
students to learn and to practice skills before they faced real situations. However, not all processes of simulation use reflection, it is just debriefing
process.
According to Pivec (2012), "Reflection is often a part of debriefing" (p. 9), debriefing in the simulation was a method that students reflected their
experiences and knowledge after simulation (Pivec, 2012). Likewise, Shinnick et al. (2011) explained that debriefing, a guided reflection after
simulation produced by educators, was a crucial process of simulation that was the time for students to reflect and explore their learning. The
appropriate time for debriefing was immediately after finishing their action in case scenario (Pivec, 2012; Shinnick et al, 2011). The length of
debriefing time should be two or three times of simulation's times that scheduled by educators

The Importance Of Multicultural Education
The development of a school and classroom curriculum is critical to achieving a multicultural school setting for students. The implications of my
findings for teaching and learning are that educators need to better evaluate their texts and curriculum that they use with their students. In Becoming a
Multicultural Educator, author James Banks explains that every student should receive an education of high quality and with that they should attain
skills that will help them to flourish in a multicultural world (196). Also on page 196, author B. M. Scott discusses that there are three factors that
need to be addressed in order to achieve a multicultural curriculum. The three factors are; "First, educators need to increase their own personal ... Show

Through my research, I found that there is an imbalance and selectivity that come with bias in textbooks and curriculums (Sadker and Zittleman from
Becoming a Multicultural Educator). I was not surprised to find and imbalance of category representation within the textbook I investigated. White
males were consistently being "the hero" in the stories used throughout the chapters of Journeys. Females were portrayed as needing saving, and
African Americans as sidekicks to white males or females. I believe that it is extremely difficult for textbooks to be fully multicultural. As a future
educator, I believe that it is part of my job to make sure that the texts and the curriculum that I am using with my students is as culturally sensitive and
as multicultural as possible for the benefit of the students. My understanding of resonance in bias is that biases are represented everywhere and it is
important to know what they look like and are. It is challenging to try and meet the diverse needs of every student, but with time and effort it will be
worth while to make sure that I represent as many cultures and diverse experiences within my lessons as possible. This investigation opened by eyes to
the true imbalance of multicultural representation within textbooks and I will now know what to check for when determining what texts to use with
my future students. I will make sure to use a checklist, similar to the one

Risky Play Essay
Teachers observed anxiety is very likely to be spread among children in risky play. As children can perceive educators' attitudes and feelings toward
risky play, they are evaluating risky play based on educators' opinions and reactions to risky play. Educators' emotions can influence children
effectively as their emotions that bring into the class would create a corresponding emotional climate in class and children would be affected by these
emotions (Becker, Goetz, Morger & Ranellucci, 2014). According to Neville's interview with Stephanie, she suggested that educators' negative

Moreover, educators' anxiety of risky play not only reflects on children's risky play, but also reflects on their teaching practices and designed
activities in the centre. Educators who have anxiety of risky play are less likely to incorporate risky play in their curriculum and they may intervene
in children's free play if risky play is found in free play (Gunderson, Ramirez, Beilock & Levine, 2013). Accordingly, children generally realize that
risky play is not being encouraged in the class and it is better not to involve in risky play or other obstacle situations. Meanwhile, children' potential
anxiety or other negative emotions towards risky play would be maintained or even be intensified as their anxiety or other negative emotions of risky
play have not been released but reinforced by educators' negative emotions and instructional behaviors (Brussoni, Olsen, Pike, & Sleet, 2012).
Therefore, educators should understand and realize how their anxiety and other negative emotions can be transmitted to children and may have some
adverse effects on their learning. Educators who have anxiety in terms of risky play should try to address it and do not avoid incorporating risky play
in the curriculum. They should be aware that risky play can also allow children to achieve positive

Lily brings the kids some food and John expects it to be for him.
'it's no for you! It's far Bertie and the ither weans, ye pig–heided fool!' From this you can tell that Lily doesn't like John due to the fact that he doesn't

he is doing.

What Should The Educator Do?
America has become a major player when it comes to diversity. Currently, we see diversity all around us; in people, ideas and even philosophies.
However, when referring to the school systems, teachers and students, it is essential to understand that differences will certainly arise. In such a
traditional country, often the question of what curriculum or philosophy should be implemented appears. At this point, the reader can observed
educators focusing on an essentialist curriculum, while others are focusing on the idea of social reconstruction. First, it is fundamental to understand
what are these two philosophies, and their purposes. Then, the question is what should the educator do? Which one should be applied?
To begin with, in the philosophical perspective on education, the instructors focus on the nature of knowledge and how we acquired this knowledge
through the educational approaches currently applied all over the world (Cohen, 1999). In which two out of the four major philosophies include
essentialism and reconstructionism. In the first place, essentialism was an idea that developed during the 1920s and 1930s by William Bagley. He
stresses the basic idea that there is common knowledge that needs to be transmitted to learners in a disciplinary and systematic way (Cohen, 1999). The
essence of this philosophy relies on the emphasis that instructors should teach the most basic academic knowledge, skills, and character development,
and try to embed virtues as well as

I Think Educators Should Be Teaching Literacy

This is a perfect quote to describe how important and powerful literacy development is for students. Reading gives children an abundance of
knowledge and teaches them new things that they will take with them out into the world. It allows students to gather useful knowledge and escape into
something enjoyable and relatable all at the same time. This paper is going to explain my beliefs on how I think educators should be teaching literacy in

Letting them make text to self–connections will give them confidence in their learning and a better understanding of the material. The more confident
students are, the more they will enjoy reading and want to learn (Parkay & Stanford, 2010).
Existentialism stresses the experiences of individual students, giving them a way to think about their own life and what has meaning and truth to them.
The use of creative thinking is commonly applied during this teaching approach. Existentialist educators allow students to ask questions, draw inquiries,
and find conclusions independently. I connect with this approach because I believe that children should be thinking creatively while putting themselves
in personal situations that will connect them back to what they are learning. The benefit to this approach lets students pick experiences that they have
had and apply them to their learning to provide them with meaning. This philosophy approach provides teachers with ways to implement hands on
experience learning of their students (Parkay & Stanford, 2010).
A balanced teaching approach allows students to receive all styles of teaching. According to Pressley and Allington, "Our best understanding of the

As a teacher, one must be aware of the standards. An outstanding educator will take these standards and incorporate them into the curriculum. Through
self–evaluation, attending workshops, peer assessing, becoming involved in the school district, and by learning from students, a teacher will

Ethical Issues In Nursing Education
Ethical issues in healthcare present themselves to nurses on a day to day basis. These issues affect our daily nursing practice and ultimately patient
safety and patient outcomes. A code of ethics exists for nurses in order to support nursing practice. It provides nurses with values and virtues necessary
to practice (American Nurse Association, 2017). Nurse educators are also faced with ethical issues such as unprofessionalism, hostile work
environments, academic dishonesty, and breaches in confidentiality (National League of Nursing, 2012). Ethical issues not only involve faculty and
students, but also involve other the nursing education processes such as online education. The purpose of this paper is to document a code of ethics for
nurse educators regardless of their teaching area.
Personal Values and Expectations Nurse educators have a responsibility to guide their relationships and interactions with students. The guidance should
be evidenced by open communication and mutual respect. A nurse educator should serve as a role model for student nurses because many of the same
interactions between faculty and students are similar to those that a nurse will have with their patients (Billings & Halstead, 2016). Professionalism and
behavior that exhibits a fair and non–judgmental manner is necessary and should be a priority for nurse educators. The National League of Nursing

The Practice For Surgical Procedures Performed At...
Group Description The group is made up of fourteen new nurses, four nurses with one year of experience, and the group is led by one of the nursing
educators at Adventist Health Medical Center in Hanford. The primary purpose of these meetings is to provide new nurses with ongoing support during
the transition period from student to nurse. Although this is the primary purpose of these groups, group members use this time to discuss policies and
procedures that need to be updated and or clarified, discuss situations on the units that continue to lead to negative patient outcomes, discuss most
recent evidence based practices for surgical procedures performed at the facility, and to share facility updates. The nursing educator uses a facilitative
leadership style when conducting these meetings. A person who uses a facilitative leadership style creates a culture where people feel comfortable
contributing ideas and suggestions, listen to multiple point of views (even those that they do not agree with), emphasize key information, build
bridges between people, create an atmosphere where people can share information, and allow people to come to resolutions to problems by working
together (Brome, 2006). Most issues we are able to find a solution to as a group, but issues that are out of our control, such as changes to policies, she
takes with her to discuss with department and facility managers.

The Heart And Vascular Institute
Clinical Specialty Area
The clinical area chosen was the Heart and Vascular Institute through one of the hospital systems I am employed with. I had been involved with a
project that studied the readmissions experienced within the hospital system and established heart failure (HF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary
disorders (COPD) were our highest readmission problems. Our organization had found that millions of dollars had been left on the table since the
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) handed down their final ruling in 2012 regarding reduced payments for preventable readmissions (CMS.gov,
2016).
One of the outcomes of the project was the development of the rapid diuresis unit (RDU) through our Cardiac Decision Units (CDU) at several
campuses. I often wondered how the RDU of the CDU was set up and how they function within the system. This is my opportunity to see the operation
firsthand, the clientele it serves, the staff, and potential education needs that the department faces.

What Educational Training Should Pre Service Educators...
What educational training should pre–service educators receive, in order to meet the needs of the 21st century classroom? Let us consider the current
climate and culture of education in order to better understand the required changes necessary to prepare new teachers entering the field of
education. Currently, students find schooling increasingly boring as they proceed across grade levels. Studies from many countries show that
among high schools students less than 40% of upper secondary students are intellectually engaged which is causing a growing teacher frustration
in the U.S percentage of teachers who are satisfied with teaching which has plummeted from 65% to 38% from 2008 to 2012 (Jenkins, 2013;
Willms et al., 2009 as cited in Fulluan & Langworthy, 2013 p. 1). In addition, it is estimated that during a given year, 33% of all beginning
teachers leave the field for a variety of reasons (Brown &Wynn, 2009; Ingersoll, 2001; McLauren, Smith, & Smillie, 2009) at a cost of over 2 billion
a year. Additionally, Sass et al, 2012 highlighted in their studies that; U.S. teacher preparation programs proclaiming "Teacher prep programs get
failing marks" (Sanchez, 2013) as cited by Sass et al, 2012 University programs that train U.S. teachers get mediocre marks in first–ever ratings"

How Should Educators Use Sumative Assessments?
Students are now raised with advanced technology. They have computers, smart phones, and tablets at their disposal. With that being the new norm
schools have to conform to include the new technology. Educators now have to look for a better way to communicate, educate, and evaluate their
students. Utilizing software in the classroom will give the educator a great advantage, but technology must not be used alone. Educators must also use
observation and other means to evaluate work. Technology is faster and more accurate, but technology is not always reliable.
Technology can aid educator's assessments of the knowledge learned by their students. New types of technical "assessments offer the potential to

Summative assessments gauge the students' knowledge at a certain time within in the school year and compare them to a past or future test. One of the
biggest summative assessments is the state standardized tests.
An educator should make a plan to assess their students using both formative and summative assessments. A way to use technology to gauge the
students understanding is to use a computer. An elementary teacher can utilize a program called "reading counts" (Scholastic, n.d.) created by
Scholastic books. This is a learning base software program that allows the students to become independent readers. This program oversees the reading
tests and tracks individual student progress. "Reading counts" (Scholastic, n.d.) works by the students reading a book from a vast library of age
appropriate books. After the book has been read, the students take a reading assessment on the computer. This is a way to useformative assessment in a
classroom since it will provide feedback to the students and help them reach their goals. This will also allow educators to see where a student's
individual reading level is and then make necessary adjustments to their learning plan. An example would be moving up or moving down reading
levels. Evaluating a student using summative assessment using technology an educator can use Scantron exams. These are multiple choice tests that is

The Importance Of Early Childhood Educators
Early childhood educators have to understand more about the shared decision–making of dynamic learning and teaching processes, which is necessary
to function in real–world early childhood environment (Early Childhood Australia [ECA], 2013). Early childhood educators must have co–operative,
personal and work skills, which enables them to work effectively and efficiently in a children's service. Educators should know to implement the
strategies to communicate frequently and effectively with parents and diverse people (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership
[AITSL], 2012). Educators should be able to monitor and improve their own performance at the workplace. The incident highlights the negative impact
of usual stereotype complaint by few parents who raise the concern for everything. This concern and reaction of the parents can become one of the
main factors to impact the educators' personal identities (AITSL, 2012). As an early childhood educator, it is their responsibility to respect the rights
and needs of every child and always care for them in the ways that ensure their emotional and physical wellbeing (Kearn, 2010). Parents should also
understand that as an early childhood educator they spend a lot of time in planning and thinking about providing the best education and care for children
in the service (Young, 2012). Also, it is educator's responsibility to respect the parent's opinion and rights regarding children's physical and emotional

Define And Explain The Principles Of Adult Learning Essay
Define andragogy and explain the principles of adult learning? Definition of Andragogy The term andragogy is a combination of ancient greek words
of "Andros" – man, while "ago'' – to lead. Which means man leading. This method or technique uses to teach an adult. According to Malcolm Shepherd
Knowles (1913–1997), "andragogy is the art and science of adult learning, thus andragogy refers to any form of adult learning". In adult learning,
learner used their experience as a resource for learning. Therefore, the learner is self–directed and independence. By identifying their learning needs,
the learner will be able to make a plan to satisfy those needs. Principles of adult learning There are 6 principles of adult learning as stated by Knowles
(1970): I.Motivated and self–directed An adult learner is more motivated to achieve their desire or goals. Learning program for adult learner is more
responsibility, less structure and less supervision. Therefore, learners are given the freedom to assume responsibility for their own choices. A safe and
comfortable environment could help students to express themselves, where students have an open communication and also encourage a group based
problem solving. Students are more independent and self–directed with a support from their educator as a facilitator. Students are normally involved in
evaluating their own learning by using reflection, journal and problem–solving sessions. Educator should acknowledge the preferred learning

Nursing Practicum Proposal Essay
Nursing students today are diverse with different learning styles. Nursing educators must shape students to become critical thinkers and there are a
host of approaches for instructors to develop needed teaching skills (Kostovich et al., 2007). There are many models of education styles; one to
fashion teaching after is from Kolb's model in 1985 which suggests matching learning methods to teaching approaches. However, educators need to
become proficient in identifying individual student learning styles. Nursing educators should also recognize their own teaching style and the effect it
has on learner development and socialization (National League for Nursing, 2007). The National League for Nursing (NLN) has developed eight core...

also enhances communication through emerging leadership and delegation skills, and builds teamwork through goal and priority setting (Dillon,

Education Is A High Indicator Of Social Disadvantage
As educators, it is important to understand issues of diversity and difference to ensure that all students are treated with respect, shown equality and
equity. The curriculum should provide all students with an education that acknowledges diversity and differences (SCSA, n.d). Teachers should be able
to provide a high quality of teaching which is relevant and enriching to ensure that students can achieve their full potential and can be successful at
school. There are children from different socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities and different cultures which can affect a child's learning
experience.
Poverty is a high indicator of social disadvantage (Ewing, 2013, p. 76). In 2012, one in six Australian children were living in poverty (Ewing, 2013, p.
77–78). Low economic status has a negative impact on a child's education. According to Thomson (2002, p. 3), children from low socio–economic
backgrounds are less likely to complete year twelve level of schooling and are more likely to become unemployed than children from middle to high
socioeconomic backgrounds. Educators might have a stereotype image that children from low socioeconomic backgrounds are inattentive and have
parents who do not value education (Strauss, 2013). This could lead to teachers having low expectations of these students (Ewing, 2013, p. 86).
However, children from working class families have different knowledge and skills they bring to the classroom which may not be relevant for school

Nurse Educator
Overall the nurse educator can have a huge impact on decreasing LV. Nurse educators can provide a safe learning environment that challenge and
prepare students for their transition into their new role as a nurse (Thomas, Bertram, & Allen, 2012). Through the clinical practice environment it
provides the opportunity for students to practice learned skills and apply this knowledge when the student begins their practice as a nurse in the
workplace.
Nurse Managers (NM) are also an important component of decreasing LV in the workplace. It is important that leadership refuse to tolerate LV
(Major, Abderrahman, Alvarez, & Sweeney, 2013). The NM needs to address any incidences of LV immediately. It is suggested the NM engage the
employees in a "crucial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The NM needs to bring it out in the open so it can be discussed and addressed (Koch, 2012). Engage the staff by providing education on LV and how
to stop it. Use the team approach to set the expectations for interactions and hold staff accountable on their performance appraisals. Coach the staff on
the necessary skills such as cognitive rehearsal to stop LV. In cognitive rehearsal the person who is on the receiving end of LV uses this technique to
stop, stay calm, and think about what was said and not personalize the behavior. Once the person has stopped and thought through what was said the
nurse can then respond calmly to help defuse the situation. Addressing the behavior when it happens has a bigger impact on stopping the behavior
(Griffin & Clark, 2014).
For the individual almost all the articles write about the importance of educating nursing staff about LV. Nurses should learn to recognize it and
confront it. Role model acceptable behavior and be the change. Be assertive in your communications and empowered. Do not suffer in silence or talk
to other co–workers as this can perpetuate the problem. Document the incidences of LV but keep emotions out of the documentation. Schedule a
meeting with the supervisor and file a formal complaint (Thompson,

The Dangers Of Technology In The 21st Century Classroom
A class full of elementary students come to school in the morning and visit the classroom website on school issued iPads to check the agenda of the
day, and then participate in an online discussion about current events for morning work. Two high school students use their personal devices in a high
school algebra class to check homework answers posted on the instructor's website. Listing examples of the different uses of technology in the
classroom could be an endless discussion which goes to prove that the use of technology is no longer an optional activity in an educational setting.
Unfortunately, technology in the classroom can also put learners in dangerous situations if they give out personal information online or misunderstand
the importance of staying on monitored websites. Even so, learners in the 21st Century classroom are accustomed to technology in every part of their
lives and therefore it has become necessary for teachers to change instruction to meet the needs of their students and create a successful learning
environments. The use of the technology in the classroom can become a safety issue for learners if they are not exposed to powers and the dangers
that the online world can hold. In order to keep children safe, educators must empower their students to safely navigate the digital world. One important
element educators can incorporate into their classroom to empower their students is to explicitly teach learners what it means to be a digital citizen.

Purpose of the Declaration of Independence
Rights of the People
A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or individual. In the Declaration of Independence it states
that "all men are created equal," an idea which leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the
governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to break his ties with the harsh and non–democratic
rule of the British and begin a new, equal society and government for America.

He believed that it was time for America to break away from Britain's rule and become its own nation, which could govern itself. To do this, though, it
was necessary to write some sort of document which would state to the world the basic beliefs on which the nation's new government would be built.
This document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but hurting America with unfair rules and all sorts of
ridiculous taxes. The colonies and colonists had no rights in determining the very laws which dictated the way they led their lives. The Declaration of
Independence was a formal document stating that the people of America were breaking away from Britain and that the American colonies were now
"Free and Independent States."
The Declaration of Independence was the cornerstone of American freedom and equality. By writing this document, the American Colonies could now
begin the process of starting a new way of life and a new government. Obviously, at the time the Declaration of Independence was written the concept
of "equality" was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share equal status. However the concepts of the
Declaration of Independence have evolved more fully over the centuries

When Creating Curriculum Plans : Educators Should...
1.When creating curriculum plans, educators should interpret and understand the learning context (or learning scenario). Explain your interpretation of
the scenario of your chosen curriculum plan. Students in Marika's class show by their comments and actions, that they have a low understanding of
multiculturalism and acceptance of other cultures. The student that makes the remarks is only repeating what he has heard. This is common in young
children according to MacNaughton (MacNaughton, 2000). The student who made the comments indicates that he is unaware exactly who 'boat
people' are, seeing as he made a reference to them in front of someone whom John's parents would class as being one. Although the students actions
can be interpreted that they have a strong opinion of the matter, they are in fact not educated enough to do this. Marika can see this as a chance to
educate her class on how to embrace and accept cultures whilst teaching them what cultures are made of. As the scenario mentions that the school is an
ethnically diverse school the educator must take these opinions of John, the Caucasian boy, seriously. As this point of view among students can affect
the way the school environment in a way of bullying, and segregation among the student community and they're diversity (AntiBullying Network,
2006). Marika is said to be shocked by what has been discussed between the students in the class about 'boat people,' but she isn't the only one who

The Early Years Learning Framework
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is Australia's first national curriculum framework for educators working on early education and care
settings with children from birth to age 5. It revolves around children and children's learning. It brings forward the shared values and beliefs and
contributes to consistency of practice across different learning settings. The EYLF promotes professional dialogue within and between settings and
highlights the crucial role early childhood educators play in establishing strong foundations for children's current well being, future learning and life
success. This learning framework has three underlying principles which are important to be considered in order to ensure a child's well–being. These
three important concepts are: belonging, being and becoming. To start with, children need to feel that they belong to a particular group and they
have a deep connection and relationship with other members of the group. Belonging can also relate to how comfortable a child can feel in an early
childhood setting where he will be spending most of his time. The second concept being is mostly about children accepting who they really are and
almost all being they will come across be it an educator, a family member or a friend do actually care about them. 'Becoming' is the third concept and
it refers to change and how children should acclimate to this change in order to be able to adapt and thrive in their new environment. It investigates

Research Based Teaching Strategies Educators Essay
Research Based Teaching Strategies Students with severe and profound visual impairments benefit from an inclusive educational environment. They
need a specialized educational program to learn self–care skills, functional academic skills, social skills, and vocational skills (Korir, 2015). Successful
strategies educators can use when teaching students with severe visual impairments include vision training, support strategies, functional vision
training, and orientation and mobility training (Westling & Fox, 2009). Vision specialists once believed that students with visual impairments should
not use their remaining vision (Geruschat & Corn, 2006). Advancements in the medical field, early diagnosis, and interventions have made it possible
for the visually impaired to learn how use their remaining vision to complete tasks. One effective strategy is the visual training method. The visual
training method uses eye exercises and patch therapy to enhance the use of residual vision in individuals with low vision or partial vision (Westling &
Fox, 2009). Teaching visual skills with in functional activities is another effective method educators can use to help students learn to use their residual
vision. Students need to apply visual attention skills and behaviors in order to complete a task. Therefore, students with visual impairments and
multiple disabilities need to learn specific visual attention skills and behaviors. To teach visual attention skills and behaviors,

of the vast complexity of the communication process (Haynes, Moran & Pindzola, 2005). Listening and speaking skills are essential in the educational
sector. Students need to listen to their educators, as well as peers in order to create meaning of texts. In this way they can give intelligent answers and
demonstrate critical thought. Speaking is also essential because students need to be able to associate with others and develop effective strategies for
communication. There are certain issues that educators face when it comes to listening and speaking skills. In this essay I would critically discuss
factors such as; Hearing impairment, Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), Boredom, Emotional barriers, Language, stuttering and phonological ...

According to Haynes, Moran and Pindzola (2005), students with phonological disorders do not have the ability to master the rules used to manage

My Kikky cak likes climbing trees, and my gog does too'. From the above example, it can be deciphered that the t in trees and too was correctly
pronounced however the t in kitty or cat was incorrectly pronounced. The d was correctly pronounced in does however it was incorrectly pronounced
in dog. It is clearly evident from the above that a phonological disorder involves more than just the correct production of the sound. There seems to be

Should Educators Continue To Teach Cursive Writing?
Cursive writing is something that some students learn at an early age. This is a method that educators have been teaching for years. Unfortunately,
today technology has gotten bigger and has taken away learning this method for students. They tend to learn through technology instead of learning
through an educator. This can be a good thing for some schools, educators, and students. This can also be a bad thing. Educators should continue to
teach children cursive writing. Everyone has to have a signature, so it's a must that educators teach cursive writing. Some students learn how to write

My Role As A Nurse Educator
For this assignment you are asked to write a 3 page paper that discusses how up to this point, you have embraced your role as a nurse educator (let 's
face it, all nurses are teachers!). What do you love about teaching or being a teacher? What has been problematic for you? How do you see a doctorate
degree in nursing, with a focus on education and leadership, helping you further expand your ability to be an effective educator? In other words, what
has brought you to this point, where you want/need more education?
Introduction
The nursing workforce and nursing education demographic trends reinforce the urgency to promote future nursing leaders, educators, and mentors.
Peer mentoring has been used successfully in nursing education to enhance student engagement and the quality of the student learning experience.
Although various terms like peer mentor have been used to describe the role of senior students facilitating junior student learning, the literature is silent
about how peer mentoring fosters the development of future nursing education leaders (Rosenau, P. A., Lisella, R. F., Clancy, T. L., & Nowell, L. S.
(2015). Growth in the demand for nurses is fueling current and projected nursing shortages, as patient populations grow older, sicker and more complex
at the same time that the age of currently employed nurses continues to increase.
How have embraced your role as a nurse educator (let 's face it, all nurses are teachers!)

A Culturally Responsive Faculty Development

  • 1. A Culturally Responsive Faculty Development Those who develop culturally responsive faculty development programs should examine the foundational principles upon which they are built; they will demonstrate the level of commitment to developing a cadre of culturally responsive educators. Any program, curriculum or agenda that does not have at its core the intention of creating an equitable society for everyone is a tool to maintain hegemonic practices (Gorski, 2008). While there is no set model or format for culturally responsive faculty development, there are certain traits that should be evident from such a program. The process of embedding culturally relevant teaching skills in faculty development should be an ongoing process (Haviland and Rodriguez–Kiino, 2009). The excitement about learning new material and the importance of cultural awareness can lose its momentum if it is not reinforced throughout the school year (Boyle et al., 2005). One dose of training is not a cure–all for instilling a new method of teaching. Cultural consciousness must flow from faculty development. Culturally responsive faculty development should assist educators in developing cultural consciousness; in other words, understanding one's own culture and how it affects his or her interaction with others (McCalman, 2007). Faculty should learn that class and race differences are not solely the problem between them and students; professors must be able to acknowledge power imbalances are pervasive in society, institutions and policies, ... • 2. Personal Educational Philosophy : Personal Philosophy Of... Personal Educational Philosophy By: Evanna Donaldson Philosophy of Education According to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (2008, pp. 1) "all human societies, past and present, have had a vested interest in education; and some wits have claimed that teaching is the second oldest profession." No one comes into the world with knowledge, all knowledge is learned. Education can be learned from experience to being taught. This explains why educators are considered a big contribution to many successful people in today's society. Without education, the world would not have access to being literate. Reading and writing is key to being successful today, without the educators there would be no anything today. There would be no schooling and most of all what people cannot live without today is the Internet and believe it or not books. Most people learn from reading and without the thought of "learning" none of that would be possible. In order to read there has to be some type of educator or education, rather it's teaching oneself or being taught the thought of "education" still is key. After all, the true definition of education is knowledge through learning and instruction. My Educational Philosophy The student is the main focus when it comes to education. It is important to make the student feel as if their voice is being heard. If it were not for students how could education even be possible? It is important as an educator to understand the student and his or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of Education In Education Arguably teaching is one of the most powerful careers offered to the public today. The impact educators have on their students is insurmountable, possibly lasting the child's entire lifetime. This is why educators should be dedicated to being a positive impact on the child's life, and creating a safe classroom environment. Educators can successfully do this if they are aware of the developmental, behavioral and social needs of their students, fully comprehend the impacts of trauma and poverty as well as use differentiation strategies to support the needs of these students. The developmental needs of students should guide the classrooms lesson plans, as well as the materials used should be unique the the age group. Every year a child grows and develops at a drastic rate, and children need drastically different supports depending on their age. For example, children ages 2–7 would be considered to be in Piaget's Preoperational Stage. During the Preoperational stage children are able to, "...think about things and can use symbols to mentally represent objects (Massey, 2008). Their language and concepts develop at an incredible rate. Yet much of their thinking remains surprisingly primitive" (Slavin, 2015 p. 33). When children's cognition is "primitive" they show characteristics of egocentrism, among other things. The egocentric child, "...believe(s) that everyone sees the world exactly as they do" (Slavin, 2015 p.33). However, compared to children ages 7–11 who are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Individual Values Of Public Education : My Philosophy Of... Philosophy of Education Everyone in this country is extremely unique and each person has individual goals and passions in their lives. The one thing each person has in common is growing up completing some level of education through public schooling, charter or private schooling, or home schooling. So, with something mandatory like education, educators in any schooling system can expect to encounter all types of students. If providing an education for students is supposed to prepare them for careers and post–secondary education while providing them with opportunities for experience, then educators should be committed to helping each student succeed in their unique way during their education. This means educators should be focused on meeting the individual needs of each student in order to help all students discover and learn while providing encouragement to find their passions. It is important that this is implemented by educators and administration in all subject areas of education. There is an excerpt from an article on the mission of the high school that summarized the mission being to prepare every student for whatever future they choose in their progression into adulthood. This is generally the mission of every school even early on, but this article chooses to focus on the high school level. High schools should prepare students for having a job or career, for college, and learning a lifelong skill set. (Barton and Coley, 2011) This mission is general and there is still ... • 7. Should Teachers Have Guns In Schools Essay Should Educators Carry Guns or Not? According to a list of school shootings on the CNN web–site, there were twenty school shootings that happened in the United States between January 2018 and April 2018. Twenty shootings, which killed and injured many people, on campuses are not a small number. Shockingly, a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida killed seventeen innocent people on February 14th, 2018, and it is a serious alert to students' safety on campus. Many people believe that educators should be armed, so the students would feel safe while being in schools. Some people also urge the American government to enact a law, which allows educators to possess weapons in schools. On the other hand, there has been a lot of disagreements about ideas of armed educators because the teachers might not have a stable mentality to make a right decision and possibly end up shooting wrong targets in hostile situations. A critical discussion on the pros and cons of educators carrying guns will help people understand why shooting on campus should be addressed as well as become more aware of this concerning issue. The primary reason why many people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The law enforces the rules of behaviour that are usually considered acceptable by society on members e.g. churches, schools, etc. Education law is a collection of legal rules from a variety of legal disciplines which have to be applied in education. Everyone has the right to administrative action that is lawful, reasonable, etc. Summary The Constitution radically changed the nature of South African politics and government. It represents a definite break with the past, a dispensation of constitutional supremacy replaces parliamentary sovereignty. These changes have an enormous influence on education. PART B ACTIVITY 1 Educators as professional people It is important that the image educators project both in and outside the school environment should be professionally responsible and worthy. The professionalization of any occupation is determined by the people who practise that occupation. That is why educators are placed as practitioners in the foreground. A person practising this occupation should be specialised trained, have an effective performance etc. and maintain a professional code of conduct. An educator's professional image is made up of their own view of their profession. Their image must be one of a mature independent person with self–confidence and also takes responsibility for helping kids to become responsible adults. • 9. The Classroom That I Completed My Field Experience Essay The classroom that I completed my field experience in was a self–contained ninth through twelfth grade. The class consists of four male students, a teacher, and two paraprofessionals. The students in the classroom have severe behaviors that do not allow them to be successful in a regular classroom. I completed the observation over a period of four days. The first day that I went to observe was in the morning from 8:30 to 9:30. When I arrived, the students were leaving the cafeteria from eating breakfast. Once they got to the classroom, they unpacked their backpacks, putting their agendas and folders into a basket on that is on the teacher's desk. The students then sat down at their desk and began working on the morning journal. The journal topic for the day was "What is your favorite subject? Why?" One of the students wrote his journal within ten minutes, while it took the other students about thirty minutes for them to complete the journal. One of the students in the class kept getting out of his seat to come and talk to the teacher and paraprofessional. He wanted them to take a picture of him. They would tell him no and that he needed to return to his seat. He sat there for the whole thirty minutes and only wrote a few words down on his paper. Asking to have his picture taken is something that he asked them about ten or more times a day. At 9:00, the paraprofessional transitioned the students into a Language Arts lesson. • 10. Debriefing Simulation As A Reflective Tool Debriefing in the simulation as a reflective tool Simulation is one kind of reflective tool that widely use in nursing education. National League for Nursing (NLN) described that simulation was a teaching technique that encouraged students to use and apply their theoretical knowledge in clinical scenarios (2015). NLN (2015) also mentioned that "simulation engages learners with diverse perspectives to reflect and reframe the understanding of practice, bringing thinking and doing together" (p. 4). Jones (2009) showed the similar view that reflective simulation was a critical learning process via practiced–based scenario activity that enhanced students to learn and to practice skills before they faced real situations. However, not all processes of simulation use reflection, it is just debriefing process. According to Pivec (2012), "Reflection is often a part of debriefing" (p. 9), debriefing in the simulation was a method that students reflected their experiences and knowledge after simulation (Pivec, 2012). Likewise, Shinnick et al. (2011) explained that debriefing, a guided reflection after simulation produced by educators, was a crucial process of simulation that was the time for students to reflect and explore their learning. The appropriate time for debriefing was immediately after finishing their action in case scenario (Pivec, 2012; Shinnick et al, 2011). The length of debriefing time should be two or three times of simulation's times that scheduled by educators ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Importance Of Multicultural Education The development of a school and classroom curriculum is critical to achieving a multicultural school setting for students. The implications of my findings for teaching and learning are that educators need to better evaluate their texts and curriculum that they use with their students. In Becoming a Multicultural Educator, author James Banks explains that every student should receive an education of high quality and with that they should attain skills that will help them to flourish in a multicultural world (196). Also on page 196, author B. M. Scott discusses that there are three factors that need to be addressed in order to achieve a multicultural curriculum. The three factors are; "First, educators need to increase their own personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through my research, I found that there is an imbalance and selectivity that come with bias in textbooks and curriculums (Sadker and Zittleman from Becoming a Multicultural Educator). I was not surprised to find and imbalance of category representation within the textbook I investigated. White males were consistently being "the hero" in the stories used throughout the chapters of Journeys. Females were portrayed as needing saving, and African Americans as sidekicks to white males or females. I believe that it is extremely difficult for textbooks to be fully multicultural. As a future educator, I believe that it is part of my job to make sure that the texts and the curriculum that I am using with my students is as culturally sensitive and as multicultural as possible for the benefit of the students. My understanding of resonance in bias is that biases are represented everywhere and it is important to know what they look like and are. It is challenging to try and meet the diverse needs of every student, but with time and effort it will be worth while to make sure that I represent as many cultures and diverse experiences within my lessons as possible. This investigation opened by eyes to the true imbalance of multicultural representation within textbooks and I will now know what to check for when determining what texts to use with my future students. I will make sure to use a checklist, similar to the one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As children can perceive educators' attitudes and feelings toward risky play, they are evaluating risky play based on educators' opinions and reactions to risky play. Educators' emotions can influence children effectively as their emotions that bring into the class would create a corresponding emotional climate in class and children would be affected by these emotions (Becker, Goetz, Morger & Ranellucci, 2014). If one does not seek to change then they might be stuck with an old idea that is no longer relevant. At one point it was believed that the earth was the center of the universe or the earth was flat. It was also once believed that women did not have the brain power to own properties or vote but we learn differently. My teachers in primary school did not know that children have different learning styles and not all children learn at the same pace and so their lessons were one size fits all. • 18. What Should The Educator Do? America has become a major player when it comes to diversity. Currently, we see diversity all around us; in people, ideas and even philosophies. However, when referring to the school systems, teachers and students, it is essential to understand that differences will certainly arise. In such a traditional country, often the question of what curriculum or philosophy should be implemented appears. At this point, the reader can observed educators focusing on an essentialist curriculum, while others are focusing on the idea of social reconstruction. First, it is fundamental to understand what are these two philosophies, and their purposes. Then, the question is what should the educator do? Which one should be applied? To begin with, in the philosophical perspective on education, the instructors focus on the nature of knowledge and how we acquired this knowledge through the educational approaches currently applied all over the world (Cohen, 1999). In which two out of the four major philosophies include essentialism and reconstructionism. In the first place, essentialism was an idea that developed during the 1920s and 1930s by William Bagley. He stresses the basic idea that there is common knowledge that needs to be transmitted to learners in a disciplinary and systematic way (Cohen, 1999). The essence of this philosophy relies on the emphasis that instructors should teach the most basic academic knowledge, skills, and character development, and try to embed virtues as well as ... The purpose of these assessments is to gather and analyse information about children from a large range of contexts, including written, pictorial, audio as well as children's interactions with others, including their families and communities, this can be known as pedagogical documentation (Arthur, Beecher, Death, Dockett, & Farmer, 2015). This is a perfect quote to describe how important and powerful literacy development is for students. Reading gives children an abundance of knowledge and teaches them new things that they will take with them out into the world. It allows students to gather useful knowledge and escape into something enjoyable and relatable all at the same time. Existentialism stresses the experiences of individual students, giving them a way to think about their own life and what has meaning and truth to them. The use of creative thinking is commonly applied during this teaching approach. Existentialist educators allow students to ask questions, draw inquiries, and find conclusions independently. I connect with this approach because I believe that children should be thinking creatively while putting themselves in personal situations that will connect them back to what they are learning. The benefit to this approach lets students pick experiences that they have had and apply them to their learning to provide them with meaning. This philosophy approach provides teachers with ways to implement hands on experience learning of their students (Parkay & Stanford, 2010). A balanced teaching approach allows students to receive all styles of teaching. It provides nurses with values and virtues necessary to practice (American Nurse Association, 2017). Nurse educators are also faced with ethical issues such as unprofessionalism, hostile work environments, academic dishonesty, and breaches in confidentiality (National League of Nursing, 2012). Ethical issues not only involve faculty and students, but also involve other the nursing education processes such as online education. The purpose of this paper is to document a code of ethics for nurse educators regardless of their teaching area. Personal Values and Expectations Nurse educators have a responsibility to guide their relationships and interactions with students. The guidance should be evidenced by open communication and mutual respect. A nurse educator should serve as a role model for student nurses because many of the same interactions between faculty and students are similar to those that a nurse will have with their patients (Billings & Halstead, 2016). Group Description The group is made up of fourteen new nurses, four nurses with one year of experience, and the group is led by one of the nursing educators at Adventist Health Medical Center in Hanford. The primary purpose of these meetings is to provide new nurses with ongoing support during the transition period from student to nurse. Although this is the primary purpose of these groups, group members use this time to discuss policies and procedures that need to be updated and or clarified, discuss situations on the units that continue to lead to negative patient outcomes, discuss most recent evidence based practices for surgical procedures performed at the facility, and to share facility updates. The nursing educator uses a facilitative leadership style when conducting these meetings. A person who uses a facilitative leadership style creates a culture where people feel comfortable contributing ideas and suggestions, listen to multiple point of views (even those that they do not agree with), emphasize key information, build bridges between people, create an atmosphere where people can share information, and allow people to come to resolutions to problems by working together (Brome, 2006). Let us consider the current climate and culture of education in order to better understand the required changes necessary to prepare new teachers entering the field of education. Currently, students find schooling increasingly boring as they proceed across grade levels. Studies from many countries show that among high schools students less than 40% of upper secondary students are intellectually engaged which is causing a growing teacher frustration in the U.S percentage of teachers who are satisfied with teaching which has plummeted from 65% to 38% from 2008 to 2012 (Jenkins, 2013; Willms et al., 2009 as cited in Fulluan & Langworthy, 2013 p. 1). In addition, it is estimated that during a given year, 33% of all beginning teachers leave the field for a variety of reasons (Brown &Wynn, 2009; Ingersoll, 2001; McLauren, Smith, & Smillie, 2009) at a cost of over 2 billion a year. Education Is A High Indicator Of Social Disadvantage As educators, it is important to understand issues of diversity and difference to ensure that all students are treated with respect, shown equality and equity. The curriculum should provide all students with an education that acknowledges diversity and differences (SCSA, n.d). Teachers should be able to provide a high quality of teaching which is relevant and enriching to ensure that students can achieve their full potential and can be successful at school. A child with a phonological disorder would interpret the following sentence: 'My Kitty cat likes climbing trees, and my dog does too,' as ' My Kikky cak likes climbing trees, and my gog does too'. From the above example, it can be deciphered that the t in trees and too was correctly pronounced however the t in kitty or cat was incorrectly pronounced.
