Instructional Programs For Technology Education
To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need to be in place to
direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They go beyond everyday teaching
objectives; they are directed at long–term learning and programmatic outcomes.
Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient. Opportunity–to–
learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a right to education and that
education should be learner centered. For an educational technology standard to be most effective it
needs to recognize these three standards. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
has accomplished this with its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards
provided by NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated
education.
Introducing educational technology into the developing world is multidimensional and requires
many basic issues to be recognized and addressed. It is becoming recognized that telecentres and the
use of ICT in developing countries to assist in meeting the Millennium Development Goals is
becoming increasingly viable.

User Assistance Paper
User assistance is an important part of any product that helps to improve user experience with a
particular product. Many products that are released for global markets require that user assistance
help and documentation be translated in multiple languages for specific target locales. This paper
presents the process of optimizing user assistance help content for translation in the following two
categories: writing suggestions and technical considerations.
Writing suggestions 1. Use a style guide. A style guide defines the grammar, syntax and tone
translators should use to facilitate a higher quality of translation and convey the source content
accurately.
2. Develop a terminology glossary. A glossary should provide a comprehensive set of terminology
that includes product names, trademarked terms, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simplify the written language. To make documents clear and easy to translate, keep headlines and
sub–headlines parallel. Use the same term to mean the same thing throughout the documentation.
This can be implemented through the utilization of a source style guide and glossary.
4. Include universal units of measure. Different countries use different units of measure. Lack of
clearly defined units of measure can cause significant confusion and costly errors. Therefore, it is
important to include both metric and imperial measurements in the documentation.
5. Include international phone and date formats. Because phone numbers and date formats vary from
region to region, these formats should be displayed correctly in the source and translated copies of
documentation. For example, in the U.S., phone numbers are expressed as (425) 517–2577.
However, international customers also need to know the country code, which for the US is +1. Thus,
displaying the phone number as +1 425.517.2577 helps international customers. Likewise, many
countries use dd/mm/yyyy. To avoid confusion, it is necessary to indicate clearly which date format
is used or to spell out the

The Importance Of Technology In Education
Technology connects students to the world. Educators must use this as a teaching tool to influence
thinking, learning, and achievement. According to Holzemer (1998), "the integration of multimedia
into the curriculum has helped teachers create student–centered learning environments that
encourage students to take responsibility for their learning" (p. 1). The students will receive the
opportunities to think critically, provide substance to their activities, learn with their peers and the
teacher, and adapt to a continuous learning experience. During multimedia projects, students must
learn and apply the appropriate way to present the material. This can be accomplished through
photography, videography, a multimedia presentation, and so much more. The more confident a
student becomes, the possibilities will be endless. "Putting together a multimedia presentation is a
lot of work", but using an innovative and creative solution will foster creative thinking (Holzemer,
1998, p. 1). Multimedia allows students to work in groups much more effectively. The teacher can
set goals, mentor the group and individual students, and keep their projects on task. If the students
choose to use PowerPoint or GoogleDocs, for example, "students teach each other the details of the
multimedia authoring program being used" (Holzemer, 1998, p. 1). Many students are already
familiar with the programs, and occasionally know or can learn the program quicker than the
teacher. Many teachers admit, "students

Digital Storytelling And Its Effect On Student Learning
Abstract
In the 21st century, educators believe using technology can be an effective factor in education for
the new generation, making educational goals easier to achieve. In fact, technology is being studied
by teachers and implemented into classrooms for a positive effect on student learning. Many
teachers are integrating multimedia tools in teaching students different skills including synthesizing,
analyzing, evaluating, and presenting information. When students use technology, they learn to
convert data into information and transform information into knowledge. Also, using multimedia
tools gives students the opportunity to participate and interact in the classroom. Consequently, the
trend for integrating technology into education has become more widespread in most schools today.
Digital storytelling is one of the multimedia tools that can support teaching and learning as well as
students' motivation. This research explores how digital storytelling can be an effective tool for both
teachers and students in order to support learning and skills.
Keywords: Multimedia tools, Digital storytelling, Students skills and their motivation.

Discussion boards/Portfolio tools are tools that have been created by a third party and are available
as an "out of the box" solution to e–learning, usually with limited customization available .
Learning Management Systems (LMS) and marking tools are university–wide solutions which have
a pre–determined set of functions that are available for teachers to use, such as assignment
submission, marking, feedback, discussion boards, chat, wikis, embedded HTML web pages, file
upload and sharing, to name a few.
Screen capture tools allow lecturers to record their screen, and when used with a microphone (or
alternatively later edited) allow commentary to be added to the screen–based activity.
Downloadable or online tools in this paper are defined as fully functional applications that can be
used and integrated into a learning program. These computer programs are usually free to use, or
available at a minimal cost to students. These tools differ from authoring tools in that their intent is
to enable students to undertake hands–on learning activities, and require no additional input from

different types of application software that will be most beneficial in business. The book describes
application software as "A set of programs that help users solve particular computer programs."
(Stair & Reynolds, 2014, p. 157) In other words application software makes it easier for the users to
perform tasks more efficiently. I will be discussing the some applications Microsoft Office offers,
SAP, and Adobe Edge Animate. Microsoft Office is a collection of application software that can be
used to make jobs easier. According to Microsoft's website "Excel spreadsheets are commonly used
across business to display financial information and other data relevant to the running of the
business." (Top 5 Benefits of Microsoft Excel, 2014) Excel is a great tool to utilize in the business
world Excel makes it easier to organize, collect, and analyze data. This is very helpful when
involved in any type of business. Another program they offer is Access which is "An information
management tool that helps you store information for reference, reporting, and analysis." (Microsoft
Access, 2014) This is beneficial in business because you will have numerous customers and sales
reports. This application helps create a connection between customers and sales without much effort.

Creation is when the process of bringing something into existence using ideas and designs, it
involves the actual making of the product. If the production process had no actual creation there

Implementation is including new ideas and designs into projects and existing designs to help further

The introduction of BIM into NZ's construction industry has been identified as one of the key
strategies to improve the industry's productivity. However, merely introducing BIM without regard
to a range of contextual issues will have little effect. It is the successful application of BIM that will
create change in the industry. This paper seeks to facilitate the successful application of BIM in NZ
by providing practical guidance to ensure the relevance of standard forms of contract are maintained
and recommends the selection of suitable project delivery models.

Personal Narrative: My Writing Style
When writing any document, the author must understand their audience before writing anything
(Vandermey, 2012). Making sure my content has the attention of the reader is essential for any
writer and understanding the process to write interesting material is the author's goal (Emery, 2014).
While all authors have fear and apprehensions about writing, their passion usually comes out on top
when authoring a document or paper. My writing style creates fears, however, my passion to
communicate properly with my audience drives my overall writing style. Some of my fears are
making sure my topic is clear and concise. Another fear is my misuse of grammar, causing the
reader to ignore my content. I use many different aspects to relieve this ... Show more content on

My business career has help me develop a clear understanding of why the content is important to the
audience. Without being clear and concise in the business world, one is perceived as wasting time
and money, which is frowned upon in the business environment. As a leader in my organization, I
must have clear communications both oral and written. My passion to help others has given me a
drive to communicate efficiently and effectively with my organization and external stakeholders.
My writing style is to be clear and concise and do not mislead the reader. I also research my topic to
ensure I understand the subject before I begin to write my communication. I really get excited when
my organization gives me positive feedback on my communication and guidance. I really like when
my peers and staff give me critical feedback on my communications. My main reason to write
anything is to communicate how, what, where, when and especially why our organization is moving
forward. My other reason to write as much as I have in the past 16 months has been going back to

Over the last few decades online education has vastly grown especially in the USA. Online
education has became popular among students of all ages. Universities have increased their
enrollment numbers by creating distance learning programs. Online University programs are a
convenient way for students to further their education and has the benefit of not having to go to a
geographical location. Students can access the courses without losing any quality of education that
is being taught in on site degree programs. Many Univiersities now offer online degree programs as
gives the opportunity to students who cannot for some reason attend regular hours further their

Example Of Computer Assisted Assessment
Computer Assisted assessment (CAA) is a common term for the use of computers in the assessment
of student learning. Various other forms exist, such as Computer–Aided Assessment, computerized
assessment, Computer Based assessment (CBA) and computer–based testing. Online Computer
Based Assessment has existed for a long time in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's).
Computer Based Assessment is commonly directly made via a computer, whereas Computer
Assisted Assessment is used to manage or support the assessment process. Examples are the optical
mark reader used to score MCQs and database programs used to record student marks. Computer
Assisted Assessment is typically formative, in that it helps students to discover whether they have
learned what the educator intended and provide timely feedback on how best to teach a subject.

referenced. Norm referenced assesses an individual's performance in relation to the norms
established by a peer group. Criterion referenced occurs when a student is assessed on his or her
ability to meet a required level of skill or competence. Computer Assisted Assessment is usually
criterion referenced. Well–written computer assisted testing is more likely to be objective testing:
testing that can be marked objectively and thus offer high reliability. The benefit is that the tests can
be marked quickly and easily, and adapted to meet a wide range of learning outcomes. Tests have
the potentials to incorporate a wide range of media, to link online assessments to feedback, to

Electronic Medical Record ( Emr )
I. Background
When the Obama government pushed for the automation of Electronic Medical Record (EMR),
hospitals and private practices were required to follow the government mandate to avail of the
incentives and at the same time to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. Moving from
paper to electronic records was a monumental tasks not only in the implementation of the software
but also in training all hospital providers to properly use the EMR.
In 2010, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) decided to switch its current system

All providers are paid for the time they will be spending in classes. Without sacrificing the quality of
training, and not to endanger lives of the patients because of misuse of the EMR, the call to utilize
current technology to deploy some classes asynchronously will reduce classroom training time.
III. The Training Department
The manager of the training department envisions training to split into asynchronous and
synchronous. The basic functionality of the EMR can be taught using E–Learning courses, and a
more personal approach will be a face to face training. He is "responsible for all the subsystem that
lead to the design, delivery and implementation of the program." (Moore & Kearseley, 2012, p.18).
The new training department will be divided into two entities. The 1st entity comprises of
Instructional Designers who are responsible for developing classroom materials. They are called the
IT Training Team. The 2nd entity is composed of Instructional Technologists who are responsible of
building E–Learning materials, a Learning Management System administrators and Quality
Assurance personnel who check grammar and test the deployed E–Learning courses. They are called
the E–Learning Team.
The E–Learning Team is tasked to pick the right technology to meet the high demand of training.

those with disabilities, normal users, or elderly. This is particularly important for those with
disabilities, websites should be made with consideration for this group and the content and services
should be made accessible as equal as those normal users (Henry, 2006). Carter and Markel (2001)
found that only 1% of web developers pay attention to the accessibility of the website, this is
because most web developers believe that to make the website accessible a lot of resources would be
required, such as times and money. Currently, there are many websites being developed and more

Research Proposal For Counterpoint Music Practice
.1 Research Goal The object of the proposed research is to develop the algorithmic counterpoint
music composition practice. The main idea is to extend Common Western Music Notation(CWMN)
to the field of algorithmic thinking as a method for creating an abstract and cohesive representation
of the underlying logic and instrumental parts. Along with this new notation, it is necessary to build
an authoring/performance technology environment which will enable us to represent and execute the
logical layer of the piece. Additionally, a collection of interactive pieces in the context of
algorithmic counterpoint music will be composed as a means for exploring, developing and
evaluating the proposed notation. Exploring this new compositional ... Show more content on

Although important notation devices were introduced to Western Music Notation during the
twentieth century [Stone, 1980], Western Music Notation symbols and semantics has remained
without significant changes since the Seventeen Century [Treitler, 2011]. Thus, the introduction of
any new notational mechanisms must be designed as an organic whole. However, it is important to
note here that the scope of this approach is constrained to the semantics domain as in the broad
sense the re–interpretation of a musical score into the algorithmic field is radical in nature.
Additionally, the workflow of authoring and performing score–based interactive music will be
modified in a way that the score itself plays an active role during the live performance of the piece.
In Western Music, staff notation plays an active role during the live performance in the pursuit of
communicating a complex musical idea created by the composer. All essential performance
information is carefully detailed in the score parts, so the score plays two roles in the
communication system: a passive role encoding musical ideas during the composition stage, and an
active role during the actual performing of the piece. If any of the performers does not have access
to the score, then the communication fails. In this proposal, the score will play an active role in the

need to access their document from any computer but their own. However they will need a virtual

Web authoring tools make it possible to create and design web pages in ease as it requires to be less
technical to make. These include software applications such as Dreamweaver and Microsoft Front

have not created the website themselves.

Challenges Of Using Bim For Fm
Challenges of Using BIM for FM Although BIM proved its capability in design and construction
phases, implementing BIM in FM can face some technology and organizational challenges such as

Graphic Designers Work And The Work Of A Web Designer
Throughout the vast selection of jobs within the Media and ICT sector the two that are vastly known
and that I shall look into are a Graphic Designers work and the work of a web designer. Both jobs
have similarities but yet both stretch out two different ways both having their own set of skills
needed and having their different methods of working and planning.
[P1]
Graphic Design
The Internet describes the role of a graphic designer as a designer in the process of visual
communication and problem–solving with typography, space, image and color[1]. Through the use
of both paper work (Drawing) to computer work with apps such as Photoshop, design etc.
There are many responsibilities within the job of a graphic designer, such as a graphic designer must
deliver the work to the highest standards of his/her ability, they have a role to present work that is
new not just plagiarised from earlier 'artists'. Most Graphic Designers will plan on paper or on and
electric tablet before going straight to the computer this is done to show clients what to expect and is
easier to change for them. Graphic Designers also have a responsibility if not self–employed to
communicate more with marketing and other parts of the work place to show what's need done after,
such as producing. Graphic design is just another link in a chain to help create a client's product
online or an real product.

Instructional Programs For Technology Education To develop meaningful instructional programs for technology education, goals need to be in place to direct the outcomes of curriculum development and teaching. They go beyond everyday teaching objectives; they are directed at long–term learning and programmatic outcomes. Performance standards measure how much of the content the student is proficient. Opportunity–to– learn standards ensure the learning is student focused, everyone has a right to education and that education should be learner centered. For an educational technology standard to be most effective it needs to recognize these three standards. International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) has accomplished this with its National Educational Technology Standards (NETS). The standards provided by NETS provide a comprehensive set of goals to encourage a technology integrated education. Many products that are released for global markets require that user assistance help and documentation be translated in multiple languages for specific target locales. This paper presents the process of optimizing user assistance help content for translation in the following two categories: writing suggestions and technical considerations. Writing suggestions 1. Simplify the written language. To make documents clear and easy to translate, keep headlines and sub–headlines parallel. Use the same term to mean the same thing throughout the documentation. This can be implemented through the utilization of a source style guide and glossary. 4. Include universal units of measure. Different countries use different units of measure. Lack of clearly defined units of measure can cause significant confusion and costly errors. Therefore, it is important to include both metric and imperial measurements in the documentation. 5. Include international phone and date formats. Because phone numbers and date formats vary from region to region, these formats should be displayed correctly in the source and translated copies of documentation. For example, in the U.S., phone numbers are expressed as (425) 517–2577. However, international customers also need to know the country code, which for the US is +1. Thus, displaying the phone number as +1 425.517.2577 helps international customers. Likewise, many countries use dd/mm/yyyy. To avoid confusion, it is necessary to indicate clearly which date format is used or to spell out the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The Importance Of Technology In Education Technology connects students to the world. Educators must use this as a teaching tool to influence thinking, learning, and achievement. According to Holzemer (1998), "the integration of multimedia into the curriculum has helped teachers create student–centered learning environments that encourage students to take responsibility for their learning" (p. 1). The students will receive the opportunities to think critically, provide substance to their activities, learn with their peers and the teacher, and adapt to a continuous learning experience. During multimedia projects, students must learn and apply the appropriate way to present the material. This can be accomplished through photography, videography, a multimedia presentation, and so much more. The more confident a student becomes, the possibilities will be endless. "Putting together a multimedia presentation is a lot of work", but using an innovative and creative solution will foster creative thinking (Holzemer, 1998, p. 1). Multimedia allows students to work in groups much more effectively. The teacher can set goals, mentor the group and individual students, and keep their projects on task. If the students choose to use PowerPoint or GoogleDocs, for example, "students teach each other the details of the multimedia authoring program being used" (Holzemer, 1998, p. 1). Many students are already familiar with the programs, and occasionally know or can learn the program quicker than the teacher. Many teachers admit, "students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Digital Storytelling And Its Effect On Student Learning Abstract In the 21st century, educators believe using technology can be an effective factor in education for the new generation, making educational goals easier to achieve. In fact, technology is being studied by teachers and implemented into classrooms for a positive effect on student learning. Many teachers are integrating multimedia tools in teaching students different skills including synthesizing, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting information. When students use technology, they learn to convert data into information and transform information into knowledge. Also, using multimedia tools gives students the opportunity to participate and interact in the classroom. Consequently, the trend for integrating technology into education has become more widespread in most schools today. Digital storytelling is one of the multimedia tools that can support teaching and learning as well as students' motivation. This research explores how digital storytelling can be an effective tool for both teachers and students in order to support learning and skills. Keywords: Multimedia tools, Digital storytelling, Students skills and their motivation. 1. In this paper I will be describing the different types of application software that will be most beneficial in business. • 62. Example Of Computer Assisted Assessment Computer Assisted assessment (CAA) is a common term for the use of computers in the assessment of student learning. Various other forms exist, such as Computer–Aided Assessment, computerized assessment, Computer Based assessment (CBA) and computer–based testing. Online Computer Based Assessment has existed for a long time in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's). Computer Based Assessment is commonly directly made via a computer, whereas Computer Assisted Assessment is used to manage or support the assessment process. Examples are the optical mark reader used to score MCQs and database programs used to record student marks. Computer Assisted Assessment is typically formative, in that it helps students to discover whether they have learned what the educator intended and provide timely feedback on how best to teach a subject. Criterion referenced occurs when a student is assessed on his or her ability to meet a required level of skill or competence. Computer Assisted Assessment is usually criterion referenced. Well–written computer assisted testing is more likely to be objective testing: testing that can be marked objectively and thus offer high reliability. The benefit is that the tests can be marked quickly and easily, and adapted to meet a wide range of learning outcomes. Tests have the potentials to incorporate a wide range of media, to link online assessments to feedback, to incorporate hints into test questions, to assign other learning activities based on the test result, to make randomized selection can be made from large question banks, to be administrated easily and allowing better test ... Therefore, it is a necessity to think how accessible of the content of the website is, this is called 'web accessibility ' which accommodates all the users, such as those with disabilities, normal users, or elderly. This is particularly important for those with disabilities, websites should be made with consideration for this group and the content and services should be made accessible as equal as those normal users (Henry, 2006). Carter and Markel (2001) found that only 1% of web developers pay attention to the accessibility of the website, this is because most web developers believe that to make the website accessible a lot of resources would be required, such as times and money. • 72. Research Proposal For Counterpoint Music Practice .1 Research Goal The object of the proposed research is to develop the algorithmic counterpoint music composition practice. The main idea is to extend Common Western Music Notation(CWMN) to the field of algorithmic thinking as a method for creating an abstract and cohesive representation of the underlying logic and instrumental parts. Along with this new notation, it is necessary to build an authoring/performance technology environment which will enable us to represent and execute the logical layer of the piece. Additionally, a collection of interactive pieces in the context of algorithmic counterpoint music will be composed as a means for exploring, developing and evaluating the proposed notation. Exploring this new compositional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although important notation devices were introduced to Western Music Notation during the twentieth century [Stone, 1980], Western Music Notation symbols and semantics has remained without significant changes since the Seventeen Century [Treitler, 2011]. Thus, the introduction of any new notational mechanisms must be designed as an organic whole. However, it is important to note here that the scope of this approach is constrained to the semantics domain as in the broad sense the re–interpretation of a musical score into the algorithmic field is radical in nature. Additionally, the workflow of authoring and performing score–based interactive music will be modified in a way that the score itself plays an active role during the live performance of the piece. In Western Music, staff notation plays an active role during the live performance in the pursuit of communicating a complex musical idea created by the composer. All essential performance information is carefully detailed in the score parts, so the score plays two roles in the communication system: a passive role encoding musical ideas during the composition stage, and an active role during the actual performing of the piece. If any of the performers does not have access to the score, then the communication fails. In this proposal, the score will play an active role in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Challenges Of Using Bim For Fm Challenges of Using BIM for FM Although BIM proved its capability in design and construction phases, implementing BIM in FM can face some technology and organizational challenges such as "Diversity in BIM and FM software tools, and interoperability issues;" (Kiviniemi & Codinhoto, 2014, p. 666) and the resistant from some organizations to adapt new technologies. (Kiviniemi & Codinhoto, 2014, p. 666)current work processes and organizational structures should be adjusted to use BIM in FM, by training on the new software tools and process, also the organizations should assign responsible people for loading data into the database. Graphic Designers Work And The Work Of A Web Designer Throughout the vast selection of jobs within the Media and ICT sector the two that are vastly known and that I shall look into are a Graphic Designers work and the work of a web designer. Both jobs have similarities but yet both stretch out two different ways both having their own set of skills needed and having their different methods of working and planning. [P1] Graphic Design The Internet describes the role of a graphic designer as a designer in the process of visual communication and problem–solving with typography, space, image and color[1]. Through the use of both paper work (Drawing) to computer work with apps such as Photoshop, design etc. There are many responsibilities within the job of a graphic designer, such as a graphic designer must deliver the work to the highest standards of his/her ability, they have a role to present work that is new not just plagiarised from earlier 'artists'. Most Graphic Designers will plan on paper or on and electric tablet before going straight to the computer this is done to show clients what to expect and is easier to change for them. Graphic Designers also have a responsibility if not self–employed to communicate more with marketing and other parts of the work place to show what's need done after, such as producing.
