Longtime Doylestown, Pennsylvania, resident Joseph Donchez is an IT industry executive who has worked at top companies including IBM and Oracle. A philanthropist who enjoys giving to local charities, Joseph Donchez supports Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas (JACC). Junior Achievement’s mission is to prepare children for the global workforce through early training in financial literacy, career preparedness, and entrepreneurship. It offers these lessons to K-12 children with the help of education partners and local community volunteers. Volunteers at JACC inspire children by sharing their professional experiences and personal insights through regular in-person meetings with children in classrooms. They teach elementary school students about financial literacy, middle school students about career options, and high school students about innovation and entrepreneurship. Students benefit immensely from this training. Research conducted over the years has even shown that JACC alumni are more likely to graduate college, succeed in their careers, start a business, and have confidence managing money. People interested in volunteering with JACC can visit the organization’s volunteer page on its website and fill out a volunteer form. From there, the program manager will reach out to them to discuss how and when they can volunteer. After coming up with a schedule, the program manager will take the volunteers through a short training session before starting them off with students. JACC also has the option of virtual volunteering where volunteers connect with students through digital media instead of in-person.
