There are two big mistakes you can make when it comes to video and personal branding;
1. You won't do anything. You'll be paralyzed by fear, over analysis, feeling like you need better equipment, the need for better software, and you'll never get around to filming a single thing.
2. You'll start too fast, do it wrong, and then decide it doesn't work, and quit.
There's something to be said about just turning your phone around on your face and filming something--just get started, do SOMETHING, and then figure out the details as you go along.
There's also something to be said about taking a few minutes to answer two basic questions that will send you off in the right direction and improve your efforts 1,000%. Those two questions are:
1. Who are you?
2. Who is your audience?
This slide deck was used in a workshop where I walked people through how to answer those questions, and a few others, that are essential when it comes to creating a personal brand through video.
