After graduating with a degree in Human Psychology, Karen became involved in a pioneering project linking inner city youth clubs over the Internet to create a social network.
She spent some years working as a computer technician and doing part-time lecturing.
Karen now works as a senior lecturer at University College Birmingham where she lectures in Research, IT and Tourism. She is a member of the Learning & Teaching group, the Tourism Team and is the module leader for a number of undergraduate subjects.
