- 8. Evaluating Where You’re At Questions Do you have a vision/goal for parenting? What does success look like to you? Describe your relationship with your kid. What do you like? What do you dislike? Why do you think your relationship is where it is today? How do you get your kids to do what you ask? What tools do you use? How would you rate your ability to listen without pretense or judgment? How would you rate your ability to ask your kids questions regardings their situations and perspectives? How would you rate your ability to help your kids make effective decisions? How would you rate your ability to support your kids decisions?
- 10. Developing Your Vision for Parenting Picture of Success + Values Write the toast that you would say to your 25 year old child on their birthday. What toast would you like to hear from their closest friend? What are your values? The basis of every decision is a values judgment. Want to know what your values are? Look at what you do, your choices and ask, yourself why did I do that, what values is driving that decision?
